We ordered plenty of food and I don’t remember a single thing that disappointed me. However, the unforgettable taste award still goes to my favourite Dahi puri. It was so heavenly, just melted in the mouth with a perfect blend of sweet, salty and tangy. Soul satisfying food. The servers were super nice and gave the best service which we haven’t got anywhere in the town lately. Visit and find out yourself. Edit: August 24, 2025 Since my initial review, I’ve given Desi Road several chances, but each visit has been marked by disappointment—delays in service, lack of staff, inattentive servers, and forgotten orders. Being an easy-going and empathetic person, I chose to overlook these issues. But as I’ve now learned, ignoring poor service only allows it to get worse. This last visit, however, was unacceptable. We had elderly parents with us and waited from 11:00 to 11:30 PM just to be seated. That’s a long wait, but understandable at a good restaurant—except what followed proved otherwise. 1. Lighting Issue The table we got served at had extremely dim lighting. When I requested a lamp, the server assured me she would bring one immediately. After asking three times, she finally admitted all lamps were either in use or charging. While inconvenient, I brushed it off. 2. Incorrect Orders and Delays Knowing how late it was, we ordered everything at once—including double portions of bread—so we wouldn’t be kept waiting between dishes. Yet, after an extended wait, only half the breads arrived. When I inquired, the server casually admitted she had forgotten the rest. By then, my family had already finished their food and no longer wanted to continue eating. I asked her to cancel the remaining breads. Shockingly, she refused, saying I would have to either eat them or take them home. When I objected, she involved the manager. 3. Management Response The manager immediately recognized the error, apologized, and offered something complimentary. Appreciating the acknowledgment, we declined any compensation. 4. The Dessert Incident Despite this, we were served two portions of gulab jamuns (for six people). The server warned us they might have “clumps,” claiming it was due to the recipe. My husband took the first bite and found pistachio shells in his mouth. When we pointed this out, the server laughed. Instead of apologizing, she explained that the desserts contained dry fruits and shells could “sometimes” be present—as though it were acceptable. To make matters worse, she went on to excuse it further by saying the desserts were outsourced and not made in-house, so they weren’t responsible. Unbelievable. By that logic, anything could end up in the food and the restaurant would take no accountability. 5. Final Insult We asked for the bill and were stunned to see an automatic gratuity added for our party of six. A gratuity for what? For forgotten orders, unprofessional service, unsafe food, and sarcastic remarks from the server? The experience ended with the server mockingly saying, “Please come back, madam.” That was the final straw. This was not just disappointing—it was disrespectful, careless, and unsafe. Never in my life would I recommend this place, nor will I ever return.

For the full review please visit our YouTube channel In2Spices or the link below: https://youtu.be/YUXetEovXdo We visited Dessi Road (aka Desi Road, Desiroad, Dessiroad) restaurant in Brampton, Ontario -- a restaurant that has captured the hearts (and taste buds) of Indian food enthusiasts! Known for its picturesque dishes that are not only bursting with flavor desi road offers a delightful blend of traditional and contemporary Indian cuisine. The restaurant exudes a warm and familiar ambiance, transporting you to the cozy vibes of a restaurant in India. Whether it's the street food favorites Momos, Gol Gappas, Chaat or the refined Awadhi cuisine or spicy vindaloo everything that we had here was simply delicious. The first thing you notice is the iconic yellow bike stationed right at the entrance, once you are done taking pictures for Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat etc. and you enter the restaurant you will be greeted by beautiful hand-drawn paintings depicting the rich heritage and culture of India, adding a colorful touch to your dining experience. Dishes we tried included: Dahi Puri - A beautiful blend of textures and flavors in every bite, these delightful puris filled with yogurt, chutney, and spices set the bar high for the rest of the dishes to follow and each dish following kept taking the expectation bar higher. Chili Garlic Chicken Momos - A fusion twist to the classic Momos, the spicy garlic kick, elevated the chicken dumplings to a whole new level. Harey Masaley Ki Tikki - An explosion of green spices, these Tikkis were a delightful vegetarian treat, perfectly spiced and incredibly satisfying, just couldn't stop eating these. Achaari Tikka - Perfectly marinated with pickles and Achari flavors the barbecued chicken was a flavor-packed delight that left our taste buds craving for more. Avadhi Paneer - Next stop on our Desi Road travels was the sophisticated dish from the heart of Awadh, the Avadhi paneer - rich, creamy, buttery showcasing the richness and authenticity of North Indian cuisine. Kheema Kaleji - One dish that we might not be ordering next time - the after taste of mutton something that I personally don't enjoy made us quickly move on to the star dish of the day. Chicken Vindaloo - Easily the star dish of the day, bursting with spicy and tangy flavors straight from Goa, the Chicken Vindaloo brought fire, delight, satisfaction all at the same time. Easily the "G TirpleO D" dish of the day. Molten Chocolate Lava Cake - The Molten Chocolate Lava Cake was a delicious, sweet treat, perfectly baked melt in your mouth brownie along with the flavorful molten chocolate. Rasmali Cake - A fusion of traditional Rasmalai and cake, this dessert was the perfect ending to one of the best dining experiences we have had in the GTA. Dessi Road in Brampton is undoubtedly a culinary gem for those seeking an authentic desi food in Brampton

Located in the heart of Brampton, Desi Road is a hidden gem that offers an authentic Indian dining experience with a modern twist. This Indian restaurant and bar has quickly become a local favorite, and for good reason. Ambiance (5/5): Desi Road strikes a fine balance between traditional and contemporary. The interior is adorned with elegant Indian artwork and decor, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The dimmed lighting adds a touch of intimacy, making it an ideal spot for a date night or a gathering with friends. The seating is comfortable, and there's even a small outdoor patio for those who prefer al fresco dining. Service (5/5): The staff at Desi Road is attentive and friendly. They are more than willing to help you navigate the menu, which can be quite extensive, and offer recommendations based on your preferences. The service is generally prompt, but during peak hours, it can get a bit busy, so be prepared for a slight wait. Cuisine (5/5): The highlight of Desi Road is, of course, the food. The menu is a culinary journey through India, featuring dishes from various regions. Whether you're a fan of North Indian classics like butter chicken and naan or you prefer the spicier flavors of South Indian cuisine, you'll find something to satisfy your cravings. I highly recommend starting with their appetizers, particularly the momos and veg tacos, pani puri. The flavors are authentic, and the portions are generous. For the main course, Awadhi Paneer Malai Kofta, Dal Makhani, and their biryani is a must-try, with fragrant rice and tender meat. Vegetarians will delight in the diverse selection of paneer and vegetable dishes. Spice levels can be customized to your preference, so don't hesitate to ask for mild or fiery hot. Drinks (5/5): Desi Road also boasts a well-stocked bar with a variety of Indian and international beverages. Their signature cocktails with an Indian twist are a hit, and the wine and beer selection complement the flavors of the food nicely. Value for Money (4.5/5): While Desi Road isn't the most budget-friendly option in town, the quality and authenticity of the food make it worth the price. The portion sizes are ample, and you're likely to have leftovers for the next day. The overall dining experience justifies the cost. Conclusion: Desi Road is a delightful Indian restaurant and bar that captures the essence of Indian cuisine while adding its own unique flair. Whether you're a seasoned fan of Indian food or a newcomer looking to explore new flavors, Desi Road in Brampton is a fantastic choice. With its inviting ambiance, attentive service, and mouthwatering dishes, it's a culinary journey you won't want to miss.
