Don’s Caribbean Jerk Restaurant Review date :02/03/2022 Hello foodies… I once more ordered from Don’s Caribbean Jerk Restaurant, this time Iordered takeout via Skip The Dishes. I wanted to get me some of that wonderful Caribbean food. So today, I opted for their Curry Chicken and white rice option, and I also ordered two patties as a side. I enjoyed their food the last time so I was hopeful this time around with a different menu item it would be just as delicious! Glad I did because it was!
Food 5/5 the Jamaican style curry chicken was just delicious, super tender ,fall off the bone perfect ,the curry was well marinated deep into the chicken with lots of creamy curry gravy on the chicken and rice , as far as Caribbean style chicken curry this was made to perfection. Decent size portion with plenty of protein. The coleslaw another star of the show it came in a small container unfortunately, wish there was more of it, it was sweat tangy and just amazing. Absolutely compliments the spicy curry chicken perfectly. One of the best coleslaws I have had.
Service 4/5 this is where they lost a point and I am once more giving this place an overall 4/5 again because they didn’t get my order right by not sending the beef patties with my order . Other than that food was great well packaged and arrived in decent time. But keep in mind there service and friendliness and customer service was spot on the first time I was there. Mistakes do happen after all we are all not perfect humans. I highly recommend this place for some great food and great customer service as a walk in customer. Their prices have to be one of the most reasonable as far as Caribbean jerk restaurants go…Stop in and support these guys they truly have some great tasting food you won’t be...
Read moreI’m currently sick and I ordered two soups and a family meal through Uber. The restaurant called me to say they have no more soup left and to either pick something else or cancel the order. I told the guy that I’m sick and only wanted the soup. The family pack was for the children. In addition, I cannot cancel the order. I’ve been through that before. Uber still charges me for the full order, and refuses to refund even though I didn’t receive anything. He then gave the phone to a lady who I again told that she has to cancel on her end. I cannot cancel because I’ll still be charged. She was quiet for a bit then starts cussing in the background. Saying “I can’t deal with this woman on the phone, somebody come deal with this’ and complaining about being confused with the uber platform. They left me on the phone for a minute while she cussed then it was quiet then they hung up on me. While I was contacting Uber support they cancelled the meal.
My issue is the unprofessionalism. I don’t work or run Uber. I understand she’s frustrated with the system but I am the customer on the phone who you not only gave incorrect advice to, but then are cussing about while I’m literally sitting on the phone. I order from Dons all the time. Almost weekly, especially since I’ve been sick these last few months.
I’m unimpressed. I tried called the main number to speak to the owner or a manager but they didn’t answer. I honestly have a bad taste in my mouth after this experience. That was disgusting behaviour.
I won’t order from them again so they will not be...
Read moreI was really hoping the recent reviews about portion sizes were wrong but sadly they were 110% right. Save your money and do not order from here! This weekend I just ordered a large ackee & salt fish with ground provisions via Skip. When it arrived initially I got excited because I thought they came correct with a heaping portion of ackee but when I actually poked around I realized they had (sneakily) scooped a few tiny spoons of ackee ontop of I. E. covering a much HUGER portion of boiled dumplings. When I dissected the whole dish I was extremely disappointed to realize there was 90% boiled provisions and maybe 10% ackee & saltfish, in the so-called "large" serving. This is straight ridiculous. Did the kitchen run out of ackee and decide to send the order anyways??? I mean yes I really enjoyed the actual taste of their food but will not be ordering from here again simply because the value is just not there. I am basically paying $10-20+ to eat plenty boiled dumpling (flour!) with a teeny tiny weenie taste of ackee. I strongly encourage the owners to please revisit your profit margins and kitchen protocol to allow for adequate portion sizes for paying customers. In the meantime you lost a new customer in me as right back to Jamaica Island Cuisine I go (who actually have fair/decent portions but they were sadly sold out of ackee early this morning hence why I tried a ting...
