I am a big fan of south Indian food. I weekly go to any south Indian restaurant in the GTA area to support the south Indian restaurant as well as enjoy the underappreciated cuisine of south India.
Dosa den was not exceptional when it comes to food, it wasn't good but it wasn't bad either.
However, the service was very horrible.
I had to walk out WITHOUT getting my coffee (after waiting for more than 15 minutes ). It wasn't that the restaurant was busy, it was just a classic case of mismanagement.
In the end, I was upset and I did what I very rarely do, I asked the person there if my coffee is ready and how long will it take. The person went inside the kitchen and I am seeing them putting milk in the pan. The other person comes out and informs me it will take another 2 mins and it is at the point I walked out of the restaurant AFTER paying for my coffee plus 15%tips.
I am more disappointed than angry as I want to have more options for south Indian cuisine near where I live. Yes, this restaurant might have got my money (as I always want to support the south Indian food business ) but I will never come to this...
Read moreEdit: (3 star - 2 star) 01/07/2022 just got some stuff packed including faluda kukfi and Mango shake. Sharing the pics of faluda; stale dried faluda and not even full 8oz qty for $5.50 better go Royal Faluda Mango shake tasted bad, not fresh and had some smell.
Sad to see a restaurant that started with some amazin flavors, going down the drain over time.
Not revisiting again.
Edit: (4 star - 3 star) they need to setup a process to repeat the recipe. This time almost everything tasted different.
Highlights: Reasonably priced Must try: Ghee Cone Dosa & Butter Milk Ample Free Parking space Should not try: Chinese
I am writing this review after being here a few times & found almost the same taste & quality every time. This place is small & cosy and serves awesome dosas & other South Indian food. The owners are super polite & very nice people, will keep coming back to check on you & if you need anything.
The place has become popular amongst foodies in a very short time, just because the chef cooks one of the best south indian food in & around Brampton.
Totally...
Read moreGuys, I truly understand it's your new business but stop over charging. I saw the bill when I was in my car and I was like really.
Any Dosa place you go, no one charges for Aaloo Masala, Dosa comes with Aalo Masala in it. You guys charged $3 for the Masala. Secondly you have are already added Gratuity, then not sure why your machine has additional option for tip?
If your ambiance and service was really upto 5 star mark than I totally agree you default charging Gratuity. The rule of Gratuity says if a table has more than 5 or 6 people than Gratuity will apply, not on 2 ppl.
Thirdly your scan menu has different price of Dosa. Charge the customers what's printed. Please do not over charge by adding your increased rates. Totally agree the coat of living has gone up, but at least update your menus with new charges.
Really disappointed with above service. Could have gone Anna Lakshmi at least they don't falsify the prices or do not overcharge for Aaloo Masala on top of Dosa which you are already charging $12.95.
Sadly 1st impression is the...
