My wife and I visited Holy Shakes today, located at the intersection of Bovaird and Hurontario. It's fairly convenient to enter to this plaza, which is also shared with Rona and the Passport Office. As such there's tons of parking available. The restaurant is fairly small, with limited window seating, but we did not find this an issue as we arrived at a convenient time with no patrons.
There are two sections to this place: Kathi Foods Express and Holy Shakes. The foods from Kathi Foods Express are a very unique Indian-Canadian fusion. I am almost reminded of Rick's Good Eats. There are burgers, wraps, burritos, and other Western fast food dishes, but all with an Indian twist. I ordered the Kolkata Kathi Roll, with chicken tikka filling. It tasted very delicious! The egg paratha wrap was unique, soft and chewy, unlike the tortilla wrap I'm used to. It's a little spicy but the shake I shared with my wife helped balance this out.
My wife ordered the Ultimate Ferraro New Yorker's Cheesecake shake. I was really surprised to see actual cheesecake being sliced and put into the shake blend in front of me. All the ingredients are real, which was rare to see in a day in age where premixed powdered drinks are prevalent. The shake came out white with streaks of chocolate swirling down the sides, topped with a small slice of the same cheesecake and whipped cream. The taste really blew us away! It was so thick, rich, and decadent. I felt like I was drinking a liquified cheesecake, which isn't far from the truth. I'm not sure if this paired well with the tikka chicken wrap, but it helped quench the spiciness.
Overall, we thought this was a hidden gem in Brampton. You don't often see these places here, sadly being relegated to Mississauga or downtown Toronto. The price was a tad high as both items came to about $20 with taxes, but we left feeling full, and the quality of food/drink was exceptional, so it was worth the price. We would definitely recommend this place for outings...
Read moreI recently visited Kathi Roll Eatery, and I must say it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. The ambiance of the eatery is inviting, with a cozy and vibrant atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. The decor is tastefully done, and the seating is comfortable, perfect for both quick bites and leisurely meals.
The highlight of my visit was the exceptional service provided by Sandeep. she was incredibly attentive. Sandeep's friendly demeanor and warm smile added a personal touch to the dining experience. She was knowledgeable about the menu and provided excellent recommendations, making the decision process much easier.
The kathi rolls were delicious, perfectly cooked with a great balance of flavors. The ingredients were fresh, and the rolls were generously filled. I tried the chicken kathi roll, which was tender and well-seasoned, and the paneer roll, which was equally delightful. The rolls were served hot and with a variety of chutneys that complemented the flavors beautifully.
Overall, Kathi Roll Eatery exceeded my expectations. The combination of delectable food, pleasant ambiance, and outstanding service (from Sandeep), makes it a must-visit spot. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for an authentic and satisfying kathi roll experience. I'll definitely be...
Read moreOn a recent visit to Holy Shakes, we left thoroughly satisfied, thanks to our server Gagan, who truly made the experience memorable. Despite it being a fast-food spot, she was incredibly helpful, offering great suggestions since it was our first time. Her recommendations hit the mark!
We stayed for a quick bite, enjoying the mango lychee cheesecake premium shake and the Kinder chocolate shake—both were creamy, delicious, and beautifully presented. We also tried the tawa soya chaaps with malai, which was a standout with its rich, flavorful sauce.
For takeout, we got the butter chicken poutine, chicken crunch munch burger, and chili chicken kathi roll. The poutine was the star—rich and indulgent. The burger was crispy and satisfying, but the kathi roll was a bit bland. The masala fries on the side, however, were a pleasant surprise!
Even though three other servers were behind the counter, they seemed preoccupied with their phones. Thankfully, Gagan handled everything smoothly, making sure neither us, nor the delivery boys had to wait long.
All in all, despite a few small hiccups, Holy Shakes impressed us with its flavors and Gagan’s top-notch service. Definitely worth a visit for a casual meal with some...
