After a day of constant snow shovelling and pulling the snow blower, my body was craving some junk / comfort food.
I decided to try their fish burger. The fish was crispy and it had a freshness to it. The portion is also huge and filling.
I really enjoyed the fish burger. Harvey's uses brioche buns to pair with all their burgers which is nice touch. Harvey's was my favourite burger joint back in my younger days. Those were the days where I could just eat anything without any worries about health...yeah...well those days are long gone. Now, I have to jog 5KMs every day and do about 1 hour of isometric strength training at home every bloody day !!!! All this just to stay in shape. Gawd...getting older really sucks. It just does....
Oh yes, before I go off on a tangent again.... onto to the review at hand...
I haven't been to Harveys in years because their locations are far and few in between. But lo and behold, a brand new location right in the new mall right in my neighbourhood. I dropped in today for a visit.
I ordered the Angus Burger, the Grilled Chicken Burger and Large fries. I ordered on their App. It was easy to use. NOTE: The pick up time on the app is CRAZY wrong. Like how can my order be ready in 5 minutes after ordering? They need to tweak that software.
I was mildly surprised to see a brioche bun with the Angus burger. It paired nicely with the burger. The meat tasted fresh and it had that classic charbroiled taste from the Bar-B. The ratio of the patty, bun and toppings are in my opinion 1 to 1. This is great because often times, you eat the whole beef patty and you are left with 1/3 of the bun with toppings. So this ratio is welcomed.
The grilled chicken sandwich was simply scrumptious. It had multi-grain bun. The ratio was once again perfect. The chicken tasted fresh and perfectly seasoned. I certainly enjoyed it.
The service was friendly and courteous.
This a line drive double into the opposite field hit.
If you are in the neighbourhood, give it a try and let us all know...
Read moreMy new favourite location. Usually, It’s hard to be impressed with service in fast paced environment such as fast food industry. However, the level of customer care I have just received, speaks miles about the hiring process, management and work ethics. In particular, I came around 9:45pm (TUE, Oct 26th) to get a small order, witch I customize to my likings. I requested a Buffalo Chicken poutine (extra gravy and sauce) with a side of Angus patty (I usually mix it in myself). The young man who took my order offered to cut the patty and mix it in, as if he read my mind and in addition he asked if I would like some other sauce, but I chose a tiny sprinkle of onions instead, to which he said “anything for you tonight, sir”. He actually went in the back and helped to prepare my food so it was exactly how I requested. Late night shift did not affect his work morale and ethics, for which I am grateful, after a long day of work, to have a happy, smiling face great you and make your night. To the management, I never got his name, but I’ll be back here, from now on, more often because of his service. As a business owner myself, I can only recommend putting someone like this in a leadership role to help this person multiply his positive attitude and share his high morale amongst his peers. P.S. Just finished the food and it...
Read moreWe went to this location around 11.30 and we were not greeted by the staff. The cashier girl was busy refilling the bottles while ignoring us. After waiting for a few mins, when she shamelessly didn't respond, I told her to take our order. Even then she conveniently finished refilling the remaining bottles and took our order when she finished her job. That's not it, the looks on the faces of the staff was that of disappointment as to why we were even there at 11.30 when they were supposed to close at 12. The staff passed these looks to each other After that, the guy at the back who was supposed to prepare just 1 wrap for us kept on doing his regular work instead of preparing our order. There was no other customer or order to fulfil and yet it took us good 25 min to get just a simple wrap, which was not even average. I could tell beforehand that this kind of staff doesn't just like to do their job and that showed in the taste of the wrap. It's just pathetic that such people are in hospitable industry. I'd refrain from going to this location at all costs. We all work hard and you should at least do your job instead of passing looks to each other and making the customer wait unapologetically. Such a shame! The staff, especially that girl at the front end needs to be replaced or requires some...
