As a long-standing and valued customer of your establishment, primarily for takeout orders, my recent visit for an in-dining experience on Thursday, September 21st, around 12 PM, left me somewhat surprised and ultimately disappointed. I believe it is essential to provide feedback in the spirit of continuous improvement, as I've always held your restaurant in high regard.
Upon arrival, what caught my attention was an unexpected addition of $1 to the price of every item on the menu once we were seated. When we inquired about this surcharge with our server, she explained that it was specifically for the in-dining experience. Although I found this practice somewhat unusual, it didn't trouble me initially. However, what followed left me with a less than satisfactory impression.
Firstly, we had to request water repeatedly—between five and six times—before it finally made its way to our table. Astonishingly, when it did arrive, we were informed that the delay was due to a shortage of clean glasses. By this point, we had already received our first appetizer, the Dhai Bhalla Chat. Surprisingly, no utensils were provided to us, and it took two different servers before we were given spoons to enjoy our meal.
Furthermore, when our main courses were served, we had to once again request spoons, knives, and forks, which ideally should have been provided at the outset. Our dining experience was further marred by the staggered delivery of our food, resulting in some of us completing our meals early, while others watched, waiting for their dishes.
Throughout our visit, we observed the servers congregating near the entrance, engaged in conversation and jokes, while we were left waiting for basic items such as cutlery. The restaurant was not particularly crowded during our visit, and each time we requested something as simple as additional water, it seemed as though the staff were unsure whose responsibility it was to attend to our needs.
What left us particularly astonished was the server's acknowledgment that she had seen us as frequent takeout customers in the past. One would have expected a higher level of service, especially given our history with your establishment.
I must reiterate that the quality of your cuisine remains exceptional. However, the in-dining experience fell far short of even being considered satisfactory. This was especially disheartening, considering the additional charge levied simply for the privilege of dining in.
I trust that this feedback will be taken constructively, as it is intended to help improve the overall dining experience at...
Read moreI usually don’t write reviews but my experience with Kesar Sweets in Brampton for catering was beyond disappointing — it was one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had.
We went in specifically for catering, expecting at least some guidance, samples, or basic professionalism. Instead, the staff showed zero interest in helping. Nobody explained the options, nobody offered samples, and it felt like they couldn’t be bothered to deal with us. At any other catering place, staff usually walk you through the process, but here we were left completely on our own.
Because no one offered samples, we decided to order food ourselves just to try it out. Even then, the service was a disaster. We were waiting, completely ignored, while staff walked around without paying the slightest attention. It was obvious that customer service is simply not a priority for them.
We then tried speaking with a woman who seemed like she might be the manager (though I’m not sure if she actually was). Her behavior was shockingly unprofessional. She barely looked up from her phone, gave half-hearted answers, and acted like we were interrupting her time. Instead of showing any respect or willingness to help, she made it clear that she didn’t care whether we gave them business or not. It honestly felt like we were imposing on them by even asking basic questions — and this was while we were there to potentially book them for catering, which is supposed to be big business for them.
Yes, people say Kesar has good food, but when the service is this bad, it simply doesn’t matter. Food is just one part of business— the other part is professionalism, respect, and making customers feel valued. On that front, Kesar Sweets Brampton fails completely. Their service is a flat-out zero out of ten.
If you are considering them for catering, take my advice: don’t. There are many other catering services in the GTA that actually respect their customers, want your business, and will work with you to make your event successful. Kesar Sweets, sadly, is not one of them.

Read moreAfter traveling all the way from New York, I was eager to experience the highly recommended Punjabi cuisine at Kesar restaurant, and it did not disappoint! Known for its authentic and flavorful dishes, Canada truly shines when it comes to Punjabi food, and Kesar stands out for its incredible offerings.
I tried their paratha and chole bhature, and they were simply amazing. The paratha was soft, perfectly spiced, and cooked to perfection, while the chole bhature had the right balance of richness and tanginess, offering that comforting taste of home-style Punjabi cooking.
What made the experience even more memorable was the hospitality of two lovely staff members, Baban and Jasmin. Their warm and friendly service elevated the meal and made me feel right at home. A big shoutout to both of them for going the extra mile in ensuring that every guest was well taken care of.
Of course, none of this would have been possible without the fantastic team of cooks and chefs working behind the scenes to deliver such authentic and delicious food. The entire experience was enhanced by the lively ambiance, with Kirant music playing in the background, which really added to the vibe of the restaurant.
If you’re ever in Canada and craving authentic Punjabi cuisine, Kesar is definitely a place worth visiting. Whether it’s the food or the warm hospitality, you’ll leave with a full heart and a...
