One of the worst experiences today at Madras Restaurant. I’m from the south and I have been eating dosa and Sambhar and chutney all my life and being a good cook myself, I cannot take it when people give you old food with absolutely no taste and call it freshly made . The Sambhar was atleast three days old and it was only water mixed with one teaspoon dhal. The green chutney was from some sort of bottled chutney that you get in store and they call it fresh mint chutney. The red chutney had the bad flavour in it maybe it was not made fresh too. I ordered Rava Masala and the batter for the dosa had no salt to it. The potato masala had no flavour too and the potatoes were not even fully smashed . The lady at the restaurant wasn’t ready to accept the mistake instead started to argue about the food and said I’m crossing my limits. I’m a person who appreciates people for even smaller things and I give my honest opinions. Really disappointed about the whole stuff that just happened and I would never go back to this...
Read moreVery disappointed. I was at your restaurant on the 28th of June 2022 at around 3pm. My friend and I were very hungry and was so looking for a tasty south Indian food such as Thali and Briyani. We are South Indians. I ordered a plate of Thali and she ordered mutton Biriyani. To my disappointment the Thali was not Thali at all. Please go visit another South Indian Restaurant and learn from them about serving a proper Thali. There was RICE, SAMBAR, RASAM tasted nothing like Rasam, Channa Korma with Panner, curd, Kulab Jamun, Chapati and Pappadam. Since when did Channa Korma became a South Indian dish. The channa mix was so salty which I even informed the waiter. when i stood up to pay, then did I realize the cook was a North/East Indian lady. How could you hire a N/E Indian to cook South Indian Food. South Indian food flavor comes from our spices. There is a vast difference in N/E Indian cooking to South Indian cooking. To top it off you have a sign board that reads -True Taste of South Indian Food- are you...
Read moreWe recently had the pleasure of dining at Madras Restaurant, located at 2280 Bovaird Dr E #6, Brampton, ON L6R 3J5, and I must say, it was a delightful experience. We ordered 2 chicken biryanis, and they were absolutely delicious. The biryanis were served with a flavorful gravy and refreshing raita, which complemented the dish perfectly. We also added pappad to our order, and it was the perfect crispy accompaniment to our meal.
The flavors were spot on, and each bite was a burst of taste. The quality of the food was top-notch, and it was clear that a lot of care went into preparing the dishes. Overall, the meal was incredibly satisfying and left us wanting more.
We've visited Madras Restaurant a few times, and this is the first time we thought to write a review. The consistent quality and delicious flavors have always impressed us. I highly recommend Madras Restaurant to anyone looking for authentic and tasty South Indian cuisine. The chicken biryani is a must-try, and I can't wait to...
