My wife and I were waiting for a while to actually step into Guac and the following is our reaction (we are out of town so a bit of a trip).
The two staff members were friendly and we have no staff complaints. They were very nice and the greener of the two asked anything she was unsure of. We all have been there and to fault someone based on being new is simply ignorant.
I ordered the Butter Chicken burrito? as well as a regular chicken burrito. I did not like the Butter Chicken one and it simply didn't make sense as a burrito. As a big Indian food fan I figured this was a sure thing but this just didn't work for me. To each their own.
I very much enjoyed the chicken burrito however and LOVE the burrito sauce that they have. The chicken was on the dry side but I don't fault that too much as I would rather that than sloppy/wattery. The tortillas were very nice and although the one person was clearly pretty green they did a great wrap and fry? of the burritos.
My wife said her's was ok...
I give it a 3 because of my wife saying "its ok", it's basically meaning she won't want to go back. It just felt like a bit of a mass production joint in a way, similar to a Pita Pit or Subway.
I don't like to do comparisons but with Burrito Brothers you walk in, one of the guys is fresh slicing the veg, you typically run into one of the owners and if you don't the other guys who work there are incredibly friendly. It feels more like a hometown place than Guac did. This is no bash on the employees - more so on the setting/environment.
This is a mainstream place trying to be authentic but ends up coming across somewhat mass produced is the best way to describe it in my mind. I.e."Joe's subs" vs "Subway" where Joe has local meats/buns and it just feels more homestyle & fresh. BB is Joes - Guac would be Subway.
Pricing was typical. 26ish for 3 burritos is what I would expect. No fault here.
The place was very clean, a bit dark but I could really care less about the lighting. Parking is easy, the lot is quiet which is nice. The two staff were very meal prep conscious i.e....
Read moreVery dissapointed in the online ordering system. When I realized this was not for delivery but in store pickup, I called to cancel. Also, my son had just walked in with pizza. I was told that was not possible as it's a 3rd party system and the employee had no access to perform that function. I was given the option to call the owner. Really! The employee then said she would call the owner and let me know. A few minutes later she called back and informed me that since this was a 3rd party ordering system that even if I cancelled, the restaurant itself would not be able to process my refund until the end of the month since they would not get the money until then. Not my problem. However, I then decided to go ahead with order anyway. Now I will review the food. Not happy. Not because of the online ordering issues. My husband had a burrito and I had the chicken quessadilla. The beans were hard, the cheese was sub standard, the quessa's tortilla was burnt and soggy. I was only given one of the two drinks I ordered and had to go back for it. I will say, the employee was apologetic about the online ordering and the forgotten drink.
Edit: In response to your uninformed/blown out of proportion comments, I did not yell or was rude to your employee. It is not in my nature to berate employees for bad managment decisions. It is not their fault you chose an ineficient online ordering program. It is my right as a paying customer to express my opinion in a failed service. At no time during the ordering process was there any information about not being able to cancel. It was course-regarding your other responses to bad reviews- expected that you would bring attention to my supposed "rude comments" to deflect from the ill...
Read moreMy wife and i went to this establishment aprox 6 months ago, we were very content with the staff and the portions of food. We were so delighted to go back and bring the rest of our family to enjoy the food. Keep in mind we are a family of 7 (5 kids, the wife and myself). So today my wife and i are packing to move and we decide to go back to this establishment since we had a great expérience the last. My wife left our home and when she returned i was expecting the same treatment, food quality, and portion size. She put the order out infront of me and to my shock, it was nothing like the past portion size and the food quality was not to par. Not only was the portion and food dissapointing but the person that was serving was being so micro managed by the owner. He (server) was confused about many things the owner said to him. My wife was denied sauce, and soy alternative. Plus they tried to make her pay extra for food that was part of the bowl. The bowl was called bean, cheese, guacomoli. To her dismay they tried to charge her for the gauc! Plus also they didnt tell her about a 0.10 upgrade for a combo to include a beverage. It is unfortunate that i cant leave 0 stars beacuse i had choose 1 star to be able to leave a comment. I hope this helps the next person and or the establishment changes for the reason the food was tastey but they are going to loose customers from...
