Although service was great, the review will be based on taste, quality & portion size. What we ordered: chicken & shrimp pad thai & beef dip with havarti. So first addressed is when they brought meals to table. First thing noticed was how small Pad Thai was for $18. It was more like an appetizer size. Beef dip looked larger than it actually was based on the way it was presented on large plate, also $18. When you put the two sides together it was actually quite small. So my review on this is way too much money for little food.
The Pad Thai was mine, & my first bite was okay but noticed right away it was very salty. By third bite my throat was burning because the sauce was so strong & salty. There were also nuts in entree which made it unpleasant to eat because every bite was overly crunchy. The whole meal took minutes to eat because of the size.
The beef dip was not melt in your mouth as it should be. It was very tough meat & very fatty with 0 flavor. Only thing that gave it flavor was the havarti which is awesome on anything. The fries were heavy & oily. Thank goodness for the little side dish of ketchup. Overall, not the greatest quality cut of meat. Au jus & bun were okay.
Will we go back, yeah because we have a $50 gift card to use. Would we go back without the gift card,...
Read moreI walked into browns social house with a heavy heart and anguish in my soul. Desperately seeking the smallest bit of relief in the form of a cold pint and some calamari; a staple comfort food for myself. After being shown a spot to sit and wallow in my own misery with my head hanging low. An index finger gently lifted my chin to meet the gaze of the man who would go on to change the course of my life for the better. “Pick your head up king” he said “your crown is falling”. As tears welled in my eyes I placed my order. He would be back mere minutes later with the ice cold pint I had been oh so desperate for and a warm plate of the finest squid chilliwack has to offer. Upon asking if there was anything else he could do for me I told him “maybe you could turn back time a few years and let me not make the same mistakes that haunt me to this day” only jokingly mind you. He would go on to have a discussion with me that set me back on the path I should have been on long ago. I dare not delve into the details however it’s no exaggeration to say the only reason I’m still here writing this review today is because of that conversation we shared however brief it may have been. I’m not a religious person by any stretch of the imagination…. But I saw Christ on that day. And he went by the name of...
Read moreMy wife, who is gluten intolerant and 4 kids were all very grateful for Crystals friendly and accommodating service. Despite my wife being 522 lbs and 3 of my kids being in wheelchairs and the fourth being blind - Crystal was able to quickly find us a table that fit everyone as well as my sons seeing eye dog, Baxter. My wife is gluten intolerant so she went with the classic hot wings. My kids all got chicken strips which they seemed to enjoy except for my blind son, Donnie, who couldn't find the plate in front of him. For myself, I enjoyed several long island ice teas before Crystal had to cut me off because I apparently kept trying to sing the theme song to Cheers. However I cannot fault her for cutting me off as it was in retrospect, the right thing to do given the disturbance I was apparently causing. Crystal was polite and attentive the entire time despite my accursed family. This was a great experience to have before having to put Baxter down and we look forward to coming back, especially since it's so hard to find a good place to eat with my wife being quite large and...
