The restaurant we initially wanted to go to was closed, so we had to find some new place. Tried it, and was pleasantly surprised. Very yummy, nice portion, cool combos. Will probably go again to try their summer menus. Their gyozas were my fav of all time, well the filling was normal, nothing out of this world but the cooking and texture was just perfect like the perfect crispness and not "wet", I would love to try their gyozas again. I expected the ramen to be overtly salty, but they weren't, also the ingredients all felt really fresh it was a really wonderful "soup" experience ,I could simultaneously taste all of the ingredients separately but also have a perfect "universal" soup taste. Love the bamboo sprouts. I personally recommend Pork Shoyu, with the thick noodles. Also, I'm not an ice tea drinker but for some reason it was the perfect drink to go with my ramen. I liked the interior design, it felt "modern" but cozy, I personally hate industrial designs styles so this one was a great balance of warmth and trendy look. Also the lighting was very nice a great ambiant look. And also very random but since its summer their Ac was just cold enough but not too much so youre freezing. I felt "at home" and very comfortable. Also , I love Paper menus, keep physical menus, none of that trendy qr codes. People don't want to look on their phones. WE LOVE PHYSICAL...
Read moreThe service was fantastic. The waitress was friendly, she was always smiling and she was quite professional. The atmosphere was rather calm for a Saturday night, a bit too calm to be really enjoyable in my opinion. I used to really enjoy the Kinton in downtown Montreal so I was really excited to come try this chain in South Shore but I have to say that the food is definitely not the same in terms of quality. The flavours of the soup were so diluted that the noodles tasted nothing and the meat slices were not soft enough compared to their other chain. I did enjoy the egg however, it was well prepared and had good flavours. We ordered the 4 ramen combo special which also came with gyozas and takoyakis and I have to say that I was quite disappointed when only 4 pieces of each appetizer came to the table. It leaves only one of each appetizer for each person which is really not a lot. For 20$ per person, which comes back to around 27$ after tax and tips, I was really hoping for them to be a bit more generous on the appetizers or on the main dish. It's just too expensive for a ramen meal in my opinion, considering what we...
Read moreThe service was excellent. The servers were all attentive and friendly. During my visit, their restaurant was not busy. They had about 15 customers in the restaurant (*I will explain). Yet, I had to wait for at least 20 minutes for my bowl of ramen. Unfortunately, the noodles were really overcooked.
I believe they have a self-created challenge by the design of their restaurant planning. I counted more or less 109 seats in this RAMEN Restaurant, which includes 18 seats in their patio area. If you ever visited Japan, you would notice how small the RAMEN Restaurants were there. And they are supposed to be small for many reasons. Two main reasons are quality control of their food products and the speed of service.
I did not have enough time to take out my phone to take the video when the one staff member had to cook 7 different bowls of noodles at the same time. I am sure any authentic RAMEN Restaurant pays attention to details and tries to make every order to perfection. Unfortunately, with the ambition of a larger seating area, they have to take some short cuts with the...
