I went in for dinner with a couple friends, having never tried East African cuisine before, because I really wanted to try injera. We got the vegetarian combo for two, kapreto, and hummus, all to share, and oh my lord. Every single part of the dish was absolutely incredible. All of the flavors were so good, on their own and mixed together with anything else. Every bite was different, the varying levels of spice played so well together, the meat and vegetables were all so juicy. We dug in so fast that we didn't even take pictures, we ate until we were all completely stuffed and there was still food left on the table, and before tip it was a little under $20 per person. I haven't been blown away by a restaurant in a long time. The server was very sweet as well. Going to be coming back here...

My friend and I were always curious about this new restaurant and were finally lucky to visit it tonight. Wow!! The food was absolutely delicious - compliments to the chef! The dishes were all fresh with good quality meat (generous portions too). The spices and flavouring were flavourful and delicious yet subtle. The decor was traditional and the people kind, humble, and friendly. We could tell there is pride in their restaurant.. and that directly translates to the food. We had a hummus dish with lamb, two lamb dishes, and a spicy chicken dish with rice (my personal fave). There are many vegetarian options that look great too. Highly recommend. If you want to explore new and wonderful dishes and flavours,...

NOT GLUTEN FREE. Not celiac friendly. Despite East African food having a reputation of being gluten free this place is not. I ended up projectile vomiting, until 1am. It ruined my night last night and not feeling 100% today either. The language barrier made it difficult to convey allergy information. I asked the waitress about wheat, barley or rye. She got another waitor who spoke more English, he also had trouble understanding. But waved the "you're fine" gesture. I suspect their injera has barley or wheat in it. It was impressively stretchy for "gf" Rating 2 stars instead of 1 because the food was good, staff were friendly, and it was a cute little spot with a sense...

My coworker and I picked the restaurant simply because we had never had East African food before! I have no experience with this cuisine, so I can't speak to the authenticity of it, but it was FANTASTIC. I had the veggie combo, and as a big eater, I couldn't eat all of it, so A+ on the portion size. My coworker had lamb of sorts, and it was quite tasty as well. The person working, was very friendly, and the food came out quite quickly as well. In and out in 35 minutes made this a great lunch time meal for us. I'd eat here again! The only thing I was surprised about though, thought there would be some chicken options. Not a complaint, just an observation.

An absolutely wonderful encounter with Ethiopian food. I ordered the 'Awaze Tibsi', and right from the first bite, I knew this was something I would cherish. The Injera (flatbread) that comes with it is incredibly delicious as well. What caught me off guard was how big it is, and that it was part of the plate itself. The lamb itself was perfectly cooked, and given the eating style (not really fork and knives friendly, way easier to use your hands) the end result was that emotion that is felt after a wholesome, soul-filling meal. Depending on your appetite, one plate of Tibsi can be shared between two people.
