Solid option for authentic Turkish food. Service is slightly lacking. I’ve been here a twice now since they opened. The place that used to be at this location was good, but some of the dishes disappointed me (like the künefe). The menemen was the best thing I’ve had here. SO flavourful. I would go back just for this. The appetizer (meze) platter is reasonably priced and each meze was delicious. The Ali nazik lacked some flavour (I think salt) but was still good. Wouldn’t get it again The İskender was excellent. Close to the best I’ve had in Canada. The meat was juicy, the sauce was flavorful, and the portion size was good. The çiğ köfte was also good. The pide was good, really nice texture to the bread. The filling lacked some flavour, but still enjoyed it. Both times I’ve been the service has been slightly slow. The food comes out fairly quick, but the server the last time did not tend to our table super well. The food arrived at odd times (like the bread with the mezes and menemen), we weren’t offered any water, and there were no napkins on the table. It seemed like they may have been understaffed. Overall I’d recommend this place! I’ve tried over 20 Turkish restaurants in Ontario and this is up there in my top 5.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Istanbul döner house , and it was a truly exceptional experience from start to finish. As someone who loves authentic Turkish cuisine, I was thoroughly impressed by the quality, flavor, and presentation of every dish. The lahmacun was simply outstanding—thin, crispy, and perfectly seasoned with fresh herbs and spices. It was easily one of the best I’ve ever had. The döner was juicy, tender, and packed with rich flavor, served with warm, soft bread that complemented the meat perfectly. The quality of the ingredients was evident in every bite. And then there was the baklava—a perfect finale to an incredible meal. Layers of flaky pastry filled with finely crushed pistachios, soaked in just the right amount of syrup, making it sweet but not overly so. The balance of texture and sweetness was spot on, leaving me wishing I had room for more. The service was warm and attentive, and the ambiance transported me straight to Turkey with its inviting decor and traditional music playing softly in the background. I highly recommend Istanbul Doner House to anyone looking for an authentic and unforgettable Turkish dining experience. It’s a place I will definitely be returning to!

We recently had dinner at this restaurant, and the food was absolutely amazing. We ordered a variety of kebabs to sample everything, and my favorite was the döner. As a Turkish person, I can confidently say they serve authentic, classic Turkish döner of the yaprak (leaf) variety—not minced meat—which is hard find in North America. The Adana kebab was also incredibly flavorful and authentic. Their chicken şiş (shish) was perfectly juicy—a quality that’s hard to come by—and if you're a fan of chicken, you'll likely enjoy it as much as we did. The authentic bulgur rice served with the kebabs was one of the best I've ever had in Turkish restaurants across the USA and Canada. For dessert, we tried the cold baklava and kazandibi. The cold baklava, in particular, stood out—it was fresh, delicious, and directly imported from Turkey. To end the meal, we had Turkish tea served from copper teapots, which makes it more authentic and tasty. The decor, service, and food were all outstanding.

I would like to share my experience in this place. ( ISTANBUL DONER HOUSE - BURLINGTON) . My friend, her Mom, and I went to this restaurant last week( March 21st) for early dinner and we had such a terrible experience in this place. We ordered different Sandwiches and one sandwich was cold, we requested them to warm it up and they put the whole Sandwich with vegetables, and mayo in the microwave and imagine how bad the taste would be. We mentioned that to them, they just said sorry while we were expecting a new meal like everywhere in Canada. The Turkish tea was served in a cup with a big crack( hot tea in a broken glass cup) which is against safety and unacceptable. Again we called the lady and with her very weak communication and language skills we could show her the issue and again she just said sorry. While we were talking to this lady the Manager who is a tall guy interrupted us to see what was going on. He was too rude to us, he did not care at all and he was not listening to us, just yelling and trying to bully us with a loud voice which is kind of harassment. At the end when we told the manager we were unsatisfied with your place's services he said " ok, just pay and leave in 2 minutes, I have been in this business for 20 years, and no need to give me a recommendation. I know my job very well." All in all, the manager and staff are cheap, their customer service is very very disappointing, no positive attitude, no courtesy at all. As a restaurant owner, providing excellent customer service and treating the customers with respect, dignity, courtesy, and kindness are crucial for success which at this place you do not feel valued and appreciated as customers. We are very dissatisfied with " ISTANBUL DONER HOUSE" and do not suggest this place to anyone. I hope they solve these main issues at their restaurant as their top priority otherwise with these negative attitudes and unprofessional services they will hurt their...

I am writing to share my recent experience at this restaurant, which unfortunately fell short of my expectations.

During our visit, my mother ordered a chicken shish sandwich that arrived cold. When we requested a warm replacement, it was served with mayonnaise and vegetables, resulting in a messy and unappetizing sandwich. To make matters worse, the manager and a a tall man who works there did not acknowledge the issue or offer any apologies.

Additionally, we had orderd three glasses of tea, one of which was cracked. I expressed my concerns to the manager, but she seemed surprised and dismissive, failing to recognize the potential danger this posed. When we tried to explain our concerns, the man raised his voice and refused to accept our complaints, showing a lack of professionalism.

The overall attitude in the restaurant was disappointing, and it appears that staff training in customer service is lacking. In Canada, providing excellent customer service is paramount for any business.

Finally, when it was time to pay, I was given the payment machine without an invoice!!So I requested to see my invoice!! the man responded rudely and telling my friend to "pay and go out in 2 minutes." This was quite distressing and felt like harassment.

I regret to say that this experience did not meet my expectations, and I hope they will take this feedback seriously to improve their service...
