I wouldn't eat in, but if you're looking for great Caribbean take away, you've found one of two places in Burlington that are can't miss spots (the other is Da Hot Shoppe on Fairview).
Their jerk chicken meal is my favourite. I think it's the best jerk chicken I've ever had, whether in the Caribbean or in Canada. What makes it a bit different from other jerk chicken I've had is the extra sauce they apply right before they serve it. So it comes to you glistening with a spicy, savoury, slightly sweet, and very delicious sauce that just enjances their juicy grilled chicken, and their perfect peas and rice are also soaked in the same gravy. Ask for spicy if you want to get the scalp sweats and see God.
I highly recommend ordering a Festival while you're at it, if they have some that day, it's a transcendent deep fried donut like pastry log thing that is half dessert and half crack cocaine.
The couple who run the place seem gruff but they are sweet and hard working people who make fantastic food.
Go try this place, it's really the bomb. I've never gone to any other restaurant in this strip mall because with Jusjerk here I don't even see them....
Read moreImmaculately clean restaurant. I was jonesing for a goat roti and they delivered! Beautiful gravy, amazing thin and lovely shell and a large portion. The owner seemed so genuinely happy to be in business, to have me as a new customer, to have two of his regulars grabbing a meal, and to have almost hit the one year mark. I am excited to come back for their lunch deals on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. I also had a patty as well, he told me it was from Tinnels in Toronto which made me so happy as that's my absolute favourite patty place. He said they typically get them from another place that I am forgetting the name of but started with an M but if they can't then they buy them from Tinnels. This shows to me a dedication to quality in the food that can be hard to find in Burlington some times. I would love to see vegetarian options and a few more snack options (doubles please!) but I realize they are still growing. Very well spaced tables and generally very happy to have found this spot. Also they are licenced with 3 beer options if that's of...
Read moreI would put 3.5 if I could. I went inside to order as takeout. I asked for extra spice extra gravy on my jerk chicken with rice and peas. When I opened the container I was surprised to see no extra gravy. The spice was there but it was not as spicy as i thought it would be. Had there been more gravy then it would have been spicer. ALSO the jerk chicken was great. BUT why was the rice and chicken ratio so offð I was expecting the ratio to be 1:1 but it was rather 2:1, rice having the bigger portion. I was pretty disappointed when I was eating the chicken along with the rice to realize that I got a lot more rice than chicken. Ngl it was a bit of a struggle to eat plain rice with no gravy or chicken. I would love to come here again because I see the potential, but I donât think...
