The Bombay Grill offers an intriguing culinary experience, blending a delightful ambiance with delectable food, though it slightly falters on the service front. I was particularly drawn to their veg thali, which turned out to be an excellent choice.
The thali, an assortment of various dishes, was a perfect testament to the rich and diverse flavors of Indian cuisine. Each dish within the thali had its unique taste, harmoniously balanced spices, and presented a symphony of flavors in every bite.
The authenticity of the food was evident, and it was clear that the chefs paid close attention to the quality and preparation of each dish.
The restaurant's ambiance added to the overall experience. The decor was tastefully done, reflecting the vibrant culture of Bombay. The seating was comfortable, and the atmosphere was welcoming, making it an ideal spot for both casual and formal dining.
However, the service didn't quite match up to the high standards set by the food and ambiance. While not outright poor, there was a noticeable delay in service, and the staff, though polite, seemed a bit disorganized.
This aspect slightly marred an otherwise excellent dining experience. It wasn't a deal-breaker, but there's definitely room for improvement.
In conclusion, The Bombay Grill is a gem for those seeking authentic Indian cuisine, particularly vegetarians. The quality of food is outstanding, and the ambiance is delightful. If they can fine-tune their service, this restaurant would undoubtedly be a five-star experience. For now, it earns a solid four stars, and I would recommend it to anyone craving a...
Read moreSimilar tasting curries..pricy for what you get..very poor service..not clean..below average ambience. The ratings are misleading..almost all Indian restaurants in Burlington are rated high. The city is missing good Indian restaurants while clearly it loves Indian food. There are quite a few reviews that give the right picture. Indians are known for their hospitality. However, this restaurant has one of the worst service I have seen ..it is a small seating space and everything is visible from the counter. Almost 4-5 people were flocked together at the counter at a time, yet they were mostly busy chit chatting amongst themselves or discussing take out orders or something. One server came to our seat ones by himself in the entire time to give the menu and forgot about us. Despite the fact that there was only one more table required to be served other than ours, we had to wave at them about 6-8 times before they would even bother to look at us, let alone take our order or serve. Every time some other person came to practically throw what we ordered on our table. Zero professionalism! This was my second time at this restaurant (second time not by choice). Both times there was a table of people sitting in the centre, just in front of the counter and all the waiters trying to woo them. No wonder they have managed a good enough rating. If you are not white get ready for a pathetic service!! Place or food wasn’t worth taking...
Read moreI have been looking for a good curry place near me, after reading though the reviews I decided to give this place a try. I was going to order it online after filling out my order i realized it said only the Hamilton location had online pickup. So i called in and I ordered the chicken Madras medium spice , and chicken Vindaloo extra, extra spicy, i choose naan bread for both my sides instead of rice, plus 2 garlic naan.
My first problem is over the phone i was told that the plain naan bread that it originally comes with an be upgraded for a cost. Which i was fine with, but instead i was charged full price for the naan bread. Instead of paying 41.78 + the naan upgrade price (according to their site), i paid 53.17. The only thing i can think of is they charged me full price for the naan side upgrade, in which case they didnt give me a side since i paid full price for the naan.
My second problem is that the Chicken Vindaloo which was supposed to be extra extra spicy, didnt have a single pepper in it/ wasnt spicy at all. Considering how much i paid for the meals it was severely disappointing.
I might be willing to try them again since my girlfriend said her Madras was good, but before i pay i will need to get a break down on the price/ what i am paying for and make sure that the Vindaloo is in fact spicy. I would much prefer to be brought to tears over how spicy it is than have it bland/ not...
