Thistle Fish & Chips — Restaurant in Burlington

I have been going to the thishtle with my family for as long as I can remember. Alwayes good untill my last visit (it will be my last visit ever). I alwayes ranted to my giurlfriend about their halibit and chips. So one day i finaly took her with my brother as well. We got the food in less than five minutes. It should take longer so we all knew something was wrong. The fries they make are blanched( which means cooked half way) in the morning and stored for the day, I know because my frind worked there. The fries were cold they looked cooked but cold never re heated in the deep fryer. I alwayes order it batter well done and none of the orders were. we all left our plates i payes and told the waitress about the problems and she wasnt concerned at all about it. EVEN AFTER I TOLD HER MY FAMILY ARE ALL REGULARS. I dont know what happened that day but I will never return. 56$ for 3 plates no one would touch. Excellent food, although the prices do NOT reflect the portions lately. The staff, until today, have been amazing, attentive, fast, and after years of going, they anticipate my children's needs. However, today they deserved a 1 star (which is why only a 4 star instead of 5)!. Due to my family being large in number, we were asked awhile ago to call ahead and make a reservation so we would get one of the 2 large "family" tables and not have to way 45 -90 mins for a table to seat 8-11 people to come available. When I called to day to make a reservation for 2 hours away to allow for a table to be free, i was rudely informed that "We a casual family kinda restaurant, and cuz of that we dun do reservations, so just come as you are" (exact quote, nice english skills). I recently called in for a pickup order of a 2-piece haddock and chips. When placing the order, I mentioned that my previous meal had undercooked batter on the fish side, which left it slimy and inedible. I was told, “Sorry about that,” but unfortunately, when I got home with my new order, the exact same issue occurred—uncooked batter that made the fish unpleasant to eat.

This is disappointing, especially considering that this place used to be consistently good. On top of that, I was surprised to be charged extra for additional tartar sauce packets when the meal itself already cost $37.00. For that price, I expect properly cooked food and better customer service.
