Thai Coconut was a fairly average dining experience, we were seated immediately and had our order taken within 5 minutes. Our food came out in about 10 - 12 minutes which is acceptable given that there was 4 other tables currently ordering. For service alone I would give them four stars with the fifth star not being given because they made some mistakes that would have resulted in them selling more wine if they had came to the table once in the whole time we ate our food.
The food is my biggest gripe, I have a really well defined palate, while the food is not bad it isn't great either. It didn't leave me with a feeling of want to try the other dishes on their menu. The rice was a sticky mess (overcooked) and all other dishes had a noticeable lack of spice factor. We ordered several dishes including the spicy noodles, all three of the dishes tasted like they were made to please people with weak palates that didn't enjoy any level of spice also referred to as white people spicy.
We had the Orange Cashew Chicken, Green Curry and Spicy Noodles. For the cost $70 (including two glasses of wine) I wouldn't consider this over other alternatives in Burlington simply due to the flavor profile not matching what I expect from Thai cuisine.
So to sum up, if you have a weak palate and don't like spicy dishes this will likely be a great place for you, if you want actual Thai food not just food made to be stylized after Thai food I'd...
Read moreI have dined several times at Thai Coconut over the last several years and most recently last Saturday. It is a cozy little spot in a plaza with ample parking. The service is very good and it has ample comfortable seating in an authentic Thai themed environment. They have an extensive menu. Every meal I have had there has been exceptional. On our most recent visit we started with the shrimp chips and peanut sauce and for our main we had the chicken pad Thai and the Thai Coconut Delight with side of jasmine rice. My son and I shared them all and it was his first real Thai experience. He didn’t know what to make of the the shrimp chips. I likened it to Thai nachos. He thought they were delicious. We also loved our shared entrees. I’ve had many pad Thai over the years from Toronto and surrounding area. This is some of the best pad Thai I’ve had. We also really enjoyed the Thai coconut delight which has shrimp on sticky rice with peanut sauce and coconut milk. All was delicious and generous portions. We had to take a bit home, which I enjoyed for dinner the next day. Some reviewers here claim Thai coconut is expensive while others say it’s not. For the quality, consistency and the portions, in addition to the upscale setting, it is very reasonably priced for authentic Thai cuisine made to order. This is not fast food. I would highly recommend Thai Coconut and...
Read moreI would give 6 stars if I could across the board!
Food It was all so tasty and the portions were more than I could eat. Though I intentionally ordered an app, main and dessert with every intention of taking half of everything to eat for the next day😋 the fresh spring rolls were so big! 4 come on a plate. The thai coconut delight was amazingly delicious! NO lie, I woke up craving the thai peanut curry sauce from the dish the next morning. The sweet rice with coconut sauce was also so delicious. Sweet but not too sweet.
Atmosphere was nice with the decor and soft music. And warm lighting bright enough to see your food and the people at your table but not so bright that it ruins the atmosphere.
The service was great. They were attentive but not overly attentive that they would asking you how your food is between every other bite. We were a group of seven people and everyone's order was perfect. Not issues or mixups.
Only things to note is that this place closes at 8pm so it's definitely for a crowd that likes to eat earlier and not a place you could go after a party or anything like that. But it's still worth it!
There is more than enough parking in this complex. It is also...
