I was looking something close to home to satisfy my Korean Fried Chicken craving, and omg this was the perfect place for it. I love how close this little Korean Cafe is so close to my place, literally just a walk down the street. And the best thing they have is 15% off Mondays with cash. I have been here already two times, and the nice lady who works here is always so nice. I come here to just do a pick up for the past two times, and they also ask me if I wanted utensils and other such with my orders. It seems they are so fast with their orders as well and it seems consistent for now. I ordered their Kimbap, and they are extremely delicious, you can tell they used fresh ingredients. I usually order their Beef Kimbap. There are so much food usually here, that I am extremely full after it. And they offer some delicious KFC too as well! I ordered their 2 flavours, for one full order. They offer the typical Yangnyeom and Honey Garlic or regular Soy Garlic. They are all just delicious flavours. I have yet to try their Cheese one, but I will be back just to try it next time. I love their Yangnyeom, it is a perfect spice and on top of that, their honey garlic is perfectly sweet and flavorful too. They for sure earned a regular from me. I will be coming back here to order more of their delicious KFC and want more of...
Read moreI live within walking distance and after eyeing the progress of this place since the winter, I'm super glad it's now open! The interior is simple but very clean (with giant bathrooms!) with easy to read menus above the open kitchen and very helpful staff. There are also refrigerators near the back with some Korean and western drink options. They are licensed so they serve alcohol as well. There are about 3 tables for 4 in the middle, and a bar seating area that could seat another ~8 or so people. I liked that the music wasn't too loud so it is a good environment to have a chat.
My boyfriend got the Samgyeopsal Bibimbap and I ordered the Seafood Soontofu. We ate in and food came out speedily, with one of the staff checking in on us a couple times.
Portions were reasonable for the price, and the dishes were flavourful. The default spice level for my Soontofu was good. We were both happy with what we ordered. There was a steady influx of people coming for take out and dining in, and the kitchen was constantly pumping out food.
We are excited to return and try their chicken and gimbap when it is added to their menu next time (staff said it will be available...
Read moreOrdered the cheese teokbokki and the beef bulgogi kimbap.
Pros: -staff was very helpful when I had questions about the food and checked in often to see if I needed anything -teokbokki was very flavourful and quite spicy which was fine with me. Lots of fish cakes mixed in. Read the description carefully, as cheese teokbokki means the rice cake has cheese inside and not the the cheese is on-top of the dish. Portion was very large but this was also ~$16 -large portion size for the kimbap and rolled nicely.
Cons: The kimbap I had came cold. When I asked the staff about this, she informed me that it was because all the ingredients are refrigerated, but assured me that each kimbap was made to order. She also confirmed that yes, the rice is on the colder side. I have never had cold (not even room temperature) kimbap before. All the other places that I've eaten them from (Korean markets, other restaurants), they have always been warm. Although the staff explained the reason behind it, eating a cold kimbap was not very pleasant and I would not order this again in the future.
Summary: good service, cold kimbap,...
