Fatburger Lougheed Burnaby — Restaurant in Burnaby

I have been going to this location my entire life. In its recent years it has gone extremely downhill; the service, quality of food, and cleanliness of restaurant have all seen major deterioration post-covid. Whether its ordering through an app such as ubereats, or when I go to eat in there with my friends or family. They never fail to give me a lackluster dining experience. I want to highlight three examples of times where I've not enjoyed myself coming here. One time, going with my father to the restaurant we had waited 20+ minutes for our food, then once we got it the burger was soggy, and the fries were ROCK hard. When asking the workers if I could get a new burger they denied my request. So I prompted to tell them this is the worst dining experience I've had and promptly left the store without eating another bite of my food. Another time while dining in, I had noticed an extreme lack of cleanliness, the garbage was overflowing and the tables and some sort of food crumbs all over them. Also on this same time of me coming, the soda from the machine was horrendously diluted (it had tasted like straight club soda.) I have never ordered food through apps and have had a good time eating from this Fatburger location. But the last time I ordered is when I swore off ever ordering from this location again through a delivery app. Not only did the food take 40 minutes to get here (I live 10 minutes away), as well it NOT being the delivery mans fault (I texted him through the app and I was his only order, he was waiting in the store for 15+ minutes) the order was made incorrect, and when I phoned the store to get a new order they said "that is the fault of the delivery app you used" and said they couldn't do anything, I did end up getting a refund through Ubereats, but still it shows a lack of responsibility from this location.

Rarely post reviews but the experience at this location was so poor. Upon entering the restaurant I noticed that nearly every single table was unclean with leftover food, dishes, wrappers etcs from previous guests. Garbages were overflowing, it was disgusting to see. Two staff working one of whom was on her phone clearly not interested to be there. The other guy finally got around to the front and took our order. He was alright. Eventually the girl on her phone started cooking but she was more interested in her phone than paying attention to what she was doing. My fiance and I sat at one of the only "clean" tables, while the cashier guy started cleaning up, which was good to see, but a little too late. Who knows how long that sanitizer liquid was sitting there. Anyway once another table was cleaned we moved to that one as the seating was more comfortable. The place just had this unkept dirty feeling to it. The windows were all greasy looking and unclean, the mat at the front door that had the Fatburger logo was in poor condition, there was sign hanging in the window that was falling down. The chair and table legs were filthy looking with grease and build up as well as the floor was gross. The place needs a good through cleaning from top to bottom. The food was ok. My first experience eating a Fatburger was with friends from L.A. who were visiting with us in Vancouver. We were hankering for a midnight snack and finally the lot fell to this proud burger joint who call themselves "The Last Great Hamburger.

This location in Burnaby is nestled in a strip mall in a busy location right off the freeway. I am sure this is a popular stop for those who are on the way to Whistler who want a quality burger before hitting the highway.

The four of us ordered three burgers (my wife and I shared) and ended up ordering an extra bag of fries, as they were crispy, fresh and perfectly salted. The table condiments included a proprietary seasoning salt that had a pronounced peppery flavor.

The burgers are just as promised: large, juicy, and delicious! I ordered the mushroom swiss burger with guacamole and our friends ordered a regular mushroom swiss and a California burger.

The guacamole was zesty and full of flavor. The mushrooms had great texture, cooked to perfection. The burger was cooked medium with the slightest pink in the middle, preserving the juicy flavor of the meat.

Our friends gave a rating of 5☆s and 4☆s respectively. My waife gave it 3☆s and I gave it 4☆s so on average, it was a 4☆ visit.
