I’ve been coming here for over 5 years — it’s one of my favorite spots. But recently, I ordered regular fries and noticed they charged $1.50 more than the menu price. I pointed it out, and instead of helping, one employee left and sent someone else. She claimed it was tax, but the $1.50 was added before tax. She was rude and walked off.

Then another staff member (possibly the manager) came. I politely said ---"I wasn’t upset about extra $1.50, just that the price didn’t match their menu."---

She changed something on the computer and said, “OH, THAT'S THE UBER PRICE.” I said, “I’m here in person — why am I being charged Uber pricing?”

She got caught but didn’t apologize. Instead, she started yelling infront of all other customers, trying to make it sound like I had a problem with paying tax. I clarified, loudly, that --- 'it wasn’t about tax — they were charging Uber prices in-store'.--- She finally corrected the price to match their menu plus tax, which I paid.

Still, no apology — just kept giving me rude side-eye like I was the problem. The most embarrassing moment while i was waiting for my order.

Staff needs training on basic customer service and how to own up to mistakes.

If you go here, always check the screen total — they sometimes charge more than the listed price plus tax on top, which...

WATCH OUT for this cheating from NYF in Metro town food court. My cousin used her gift card to pay for her small order which she still has $7.09 remain balance in her card (she checked from online balance before ordering). Then, she came to Metrotown food court using this gift card to pay her order but someone there, like a manager who was in charge at that time. Saying that her balance was only $1.06 after 2 times scanned. My friend replied to a cashier that her remain balance in card still $7.09 a cashier still asking for a difference. = a long line up, so my friend gave up to talk back to a cashier and ending up to pay again for her order. ...a ripped off amount was small but imagination they attempt to apply to every customers who use gift cards, dear everyone! They schemed by scanning customers gift cards twice times! So, this message is to red alert for customers who use gift cards to pay for their order! Please check your balance before paying...

The fries are great but the customer service is HORRIBLE. I ordered extra cheese curds on my fries and I came around 6:30 p.m. when the mall & food court closes at 7. I came at this time and not earlier because I work in the mall and I had just finished my shift. I don’t think I came too close to the closing time so why is she getting all mad? The cashier seemed annoyed and she rolled her eyes at me. I had paid an extra $2 for extra cheese but when I got my order it looked to me like I was only given the regular amount. I was going to complain but I decided with her bad attitude, I would probably deal with more eye rolling and disrespect if I tried to tell her my order was wrong. So I just ate the fries and the were delicious like always, but I don’t think I will be back thanks to the POOR SERVICE and overall just the fact that I did not feel welcome or respected...

Sigh.. it has come down to this. I have been eating new york fries poutine for 30 years. It was still one of my favorite poutines even after trying real quebecois poutine in quebec. I love their gravy taste. Over the years, they just add less and less toppings. Thet used to not count tge number of pumps of gravy and just make sure it's all covered. Now theres only 2? pumps. The gravy still tastes good at least. A small scoop of cheese curds... almost too bare - you can see from the photos. Fries still taste the same. I was also here when you can sprinkle california seasoning yourself but now you have to ask for a packet and it's limited to 1 per poutine. Although it's a big packet, it feels like a waste because I don't use it all.

It was BCAA member day and there was a huge line of people that were all wanting to claim the promotion. Despite the large amount of people, the line moved quite steadily. When it was my turn to order, I thought the staff were very organized. They had to collect people's BCAA membership number and also verify their driver's license. Given all the extra things going on, the staff were efficient, patient, and friendly. I ordered fries & gravy along with the premium hot dog. There was a minimal wait for the food, and everything came out hot.

Food courts, not a whole lot to describe. But if you want fries NY is a top choice. BUT if you want poutine, SAD is a start to how we felt after eating the pathetic attempt to what is called “the classic” dish. Quality control is terrible, and after complaining that there was less than 5-6 cheese curds sprinkled on top (I get it, “today is VERY BUSY”), the response was “that’s what the boss is telling us to put on now” Anything but “classic”
