O'Kitchen — Restaurant in Burnaby

I recently visited O’kitchen at the Brentwood Mall food court for their grand opening event, and I have to say, I was thoroughly impressed. Specializing in Hong Kong and Macau style food, this spot offers a delightful twist to the typical food court experience.

We tried the Spaghetti Bolognaise and Chicken Wings with Fries, and both dishes exceeded our expectations. The Spaghetti Bolognaise was rich and flavorful, with generous portions, while the Chicken Wings were tasty and well prepared, it was the crispy Fries that was the highlight for me.

The quality and flavor of the food were outstanding for the limited cooking space they are working with, and we are definitely planning to return to try their Baked Pork Chop on Rice and Baked Chicken dishes. O’kitchen is a great addition to the Brentwood Mall food court, and I highly recommend...

The person who took my order was unfriendly and unhelpful. I didn't know until reading other google reviews that a drink is included with one of my orders so when the staff person asked if I wanted something to drink, I declined not knowing it was included.

The Portuguese chicken was probably reheated from frozen which isn't a big deal, but for the portions and flavour, it was not worth it. The onion in it was raw and the potatoes were undercooked.

The other issue was the payment machine is set up for tipping. Folks, we are grabbing food from the food court. We're eating from disposable containers with plastic cutlery, we have to order at the cashier and then have to come back to pick up the food when it's ready. Seriously.

If you like salty and putting pebble-like rice in your mouth, this is the place to order. This is my 2nd time ordering here. Not busy. When they 1st opened I asked them how long for the baked rice, they said 5 minutes. I said I am okay if you guys take longer to bake it, the staff said 5 minutes is good. On Friday, Feb 28th I went again and it was the same. Hard like pebbles in mouth. This round I thought I would give them a second chance. After ordering they said it will take 10 mins to bake. I thought okay better. But no, I was wrong. Seems like it's half cooked. Don't go! You can find other good food there for the same amount. Better quality too.
