I noticed this place a few days prior & made a note to comeback for lunch a few days later when I was back in the area. Neat to find a 'hole in the wall' local restaurant that serves good food for reasonable prices. I checked out their reviews before attending & was happy to see that they have high reviews. Their website lists all their menu items & current prices. Parking is Free in the Parking Lot outfront although a bit busy because there are quite a few business in the corner complex. The restaurant doesn't look like much & the atmosphere could be better, lots of room for more tables etc but the food is really good quality, price is good, & service is quick albiet a bit of a language barrier. They did bring the food to the table & gave glasses of water without even having to ask which was nice. I ordered the Chirashi Don, + a side Miso Soup. For the Chirashi Don was happy with the presentation, size of the peices of sashimi, & number of pieces was pretty good for the price. Basically 10 pieces for $14.50, lots of tasty sushi rice below too. I would order again but next time will probably go for the Deluxe Chirashi Don to see the difference. I grabbed 2 takeout menus on my way out & will tell people to go & try this place when I can.
Came back with a Friend on SAT JUL-27 & we both had Bento Box A which for only $11.45 was exceptional all around. I...
Read moreSushi Q Tea Cafe has been around for a while now but I’ve always been hesitant on visiting in the past because I never really knew what it was… is it a sushi place? Is it a bubble tea place? Well, I finally took the plunge and visited in late September.
The interior is a bit homey (for loss of a better word). There are some couches in the front area and then some tables scattered about inside as well as shelves stocked with reading material (didn’t check to see what kind of books they had). The chef wasn’t there when I arrived so I had to wait a bit for my order (but they did tell me about this before I ordered).
I decided to try their Poke Bowl ($11 for medium) which contains salmon, tuna, imitation crab, cucumber, tobiko, seaweed, tamago, avocado, aonori, and mayo as well as ordering their Lychee Green Tea ($4.25). The drink had just a hint of lychee flavour to it.
I’ve read some posts where people say the service here is slow and I have to admit that it can take a while for the food to come out (even when there’s not a big crowd in here). I did like how the imitation crab was fluffed up in the bowl and I thought that the food was pretty okay. That being said, it’s a fairly limited menu...
Read moreI got take out from here over the weekend. The wait was longer than stated but still reasonable for a Saturday night. We tried it because Uber constantly has a BOGO deal for their saba aburi (among many other BOGO items) and also we were craving sashimi.
The food is okay but definitely not the best sushi out there. I might not even order the aburi again if not for BOGO. But we were absolutely blown away by the portion and price. The bento box A has SO much food: 2pcs prawn tempura, 2pcs yam tempura, teriyaki chicken on rice, 8pcs California roll, salad and miso soup!! And it’s $10.95!! I really don’t know where to find these prices for a meal anymore…I feel like the price is comparable to a fast food meal, maybe even cheaper than recent grocery prices! Overall, everything else was decent and fresh too. So definitely recommend if you’re craving sushi but trying to save $$, just don’t expect anything fancy!
TLDR: pretty average sushi place, made up for by the very generous portions and extremely...
