Daal Roti — Restaurant in Caledon

First of all I really hate to left the bad review and specially for Dal Roti as me, my family and friends are biggest dal Roti friends you have ever seen but the last experience was very very bad for all of us. We order a catering for my kid birthday party which we normally order from dal Roti for all our parties and this time they mess up our whole order with somebody else order. We order veg sabjis with dal tadka and rice etc but they prepare non veg and dal makkani. I was so frustrated in the middle of parties to short out this things and the Owner Payal instead of telling me sorry she started argue with me. In the end I let it go as I don’t want to spoil my best night but I realise that half of the people didn’t even eat the food and food was totally finish and I was shock seeing that this is the first time ever happens to my any of the parties from last 18 years almost. Then I check the quantity they have send me was actually was very less then I have order, I realise this happend because they have given my order to somebody else, I call the ower Payal again but as expected she was arrogant and rude lady who don’t even know how to talk to their customer and run the business. She was blaming me instead of taking blame on her staff or her self. So guys before you go to this place please be careful now bcoz this is not an dal Roti restaurant any more which you or me have experience last few years. She also doing business in cash so she don’t have to pay tax which is not acceptable now which I am going to report as well soon. Thank you for this bad experience atleast my family and friends know where else...

Ambience - ok

Staff & service - could have been better. Long waiting for the food.

Food - ordered thali it came with (1) non-veg appitizer : chicken tandoori i guess was a disaster stinks raw, the blood stains were still there. It was F**ked up forgot to take picture. (2) non-veg curry : chicken tikka masala very Poor again with chicken tasted bad but the curry smell dominated the chicken stink. (3) veg curry : channa masala was merely ok but too much garam masala flavour. (4) Rice : locked good but no salt at all Poor. (5) Mains : Naan was great, soft and tasted good 👍👍 (6) Desert : gulab jammun can't make it bad so it was okk or may be bought from store as is and served it just by hearing 🤔

When I said chicken was bad the waitresses gave me veg Curries: Daal tadak and Daal maknni was Cooked the day before reheated and served no salt again.

Overall very Poor, please shut the restaurant down and don't waste time. Or Change the complete crew main the...

I'm so happy we finally have a "hot table option" Indian restaurant in town. I like to see the curries before deciding on what's going into my thali, and now I can! I only do veggie curries, so I'll have to update when I have some feedback on the meat dishes.

The food is fresh, delicious, perfectly seasoned and just the right amount of heat. The naan and roti are some of the best I've had around these parts. The portions are quite generous for the price point, and the thali tray and lid are secure (very important if you aren't a fan of having your curries infiltrate your dessert!)

The owner is super friendly and immediately remembered me after only having ordered takeout twice now. (Likely because of all the extra breads I order!)

I've yet to dine in, but the seating area is sleek, modern and very comfortable looking. I'm looking forward to an actual sit down dinner in the near future.
