Once in a while, someone or something must come and kick * of lower-end-mediocracy. It’s true for everything. So here I am, will make the whole experience as short as possible. We (four) arrived there at noon, on Sunday for late fashion breakfast. The hall was full and very loud/noisy but I said to myself, ok, lots of families and people look happy – it must be good. The host told us we will have to wait about 15 min. The first thought we had is let’s go and find breakfast elsewhere but we stood there and decided to wait at the bar. The only thing I really wanted was a cup of coffee and that cake – HUGE mountain chocolate cake that smiled at me from the vitrine. So. While sitting there I was observing the cores, the people, the counter workers, the waitresses ran like crazy.. not sure if there were enough staff or not – but the bar server was juggling like a trained monkey between the coffee machine (spoiling the milk by boiling it) and everything else that was on his list. What I did noticed was… Some plates were left almost full after people left. But made a quick pick on Eggs Florentine for both of us. Asked for cappuccino or coffee I guess that wasn’t clear. There was one Fettuccini Alfredo, 1 JD Pettit Filet, One Wafers with add fruit and grapefruit juice (we never received). In the meantime we had water in old cracked plastic ‘glasses’ with a straw. I can be picky on many tiny details. I am. BUT these are minors to the main servings at ‘Symposium Café Restaurant & Lounge’. And keeping the flag of family gathering and friends having the best time and place to have a good talk – cause no one will hear (that loud it was in general all the time). My worse coffee experience in my life – which I never thought one can have in a ‘Café’ just happened there. The person that made it has NO IDEA whatsoever – HOW TO MAKE COFFEE (and the second cup wasn’t improved but more like a dirty soapy dishes water). The third one was a spoon of espresso piled up with milk foam to the top of the cup… I had to dig-in to find it…ohh boy I gave up… The food was OLD. Pasta came from fridge with overpowered sauce. Eggs were overcooked and served cold!! OMG…NEVER ever again… Everything was OLD. BS. We left $107 there. Was it worth it? Hmm. BTW the only ‘good thing’ was the cake. It was 1+1 we took home with us. It was gigantic – and yes… IT...
Read moreMade reservations for a birthday brunch at Bolton location . When we arrived they had not prepared our table so we had to wait 10 minutes for the manager to figure out how to push tables together to accommodate 8 adults & 2 children. When we went to be seated there was garbage & liquid all over the floor , & tables were filthy. We stood around awkwardly for another 10 minutes waiting for 3 staff members to figure out how to pick up the garbage & clean the tables & floor. After the garbage was cleared away my husband still had to go get stuff to clean the tops of the table himself . Once our server took our order we waited for about an hour for some of our meals to arrive & then another 10 minutes for the rest. After eating our semi ok meals we happened to witness the manager Merella cut someones very large birthday cake & put her unwashed dirty hands all over every single slice of cake !!! While behind her we witnessed multiple times the waffle making guy put his unwashed, gloveless hands through his hair , grabbing the waffle with his hands, passing it to another guy who then grab it from him with his hands & then proceeded to put his dirty gloveless hands through his beard & then served it to a customer. When we brought this to the manager Merrella’s attention, all she kept repeatedly asking is,“did your meals taste good”???!!!. I’m disgusted and appalled for what I witnessed. And the so called manager, Mirella, who should not be a manager, needs to be trained in customer service because when the customer is right, there right. She’s ignorant and we will never, ever go back to any symposium ever again. Also we have notified the Ontario health inspector because she thought she didn’t do anything wrong by putting her bare hands in the cake. Absolutely disgusting. U should be assamshed Mirella. Anyone who goes...
