I came here with 8 of my friends Jan 20th, the first red flag should have been how unnecessary large the menus, even the drink menu is gigantic. The server was super nice, and took her time taking our orders. Second red flag was the ice coffees (iced lattes) tastes like coffee water. When our foods arrived, we ordered some breakfast items, and some lunch items. The poutine gravy tasted very off, the chicken in the chicken souvlaki was super dry and chewy. The waffles taste like eggos (which isn’t terrible but it’s a restaurant come on) The potatoes with the breakfast was good though. California chicken burger was very dry and chewy as well. 6/8 of my table did not finish even half of their meals, and it’s a shame so much food was wasted. The milkshake was good. To be completely honest, I’ve never been to a restaurant and the food actually tasted off and bad. I don’t usually leave reviews but just astonished on how bad the cooking was done. Definitely nothing tasted fresh, everything is probably frozen. Dennys tastes a lot better, and that’s saying a lot. The servers did well to accommodate; and were very understanding. The chefs need to be fired or revisit a culinary school. Myself with 0 cooking experience, could probably cook everything we ordered better then what the chefs cooked up. I’m sorry for being harsh, but this was just incredibly bad food. Xoxo gossip boy

Go for the patio, not the plate Symposium Cafe is hard to miss with its prime location right in the heart of the area, making it a convenient choice for a casual outing. The ambiance is where this place truly shines—patio seating was the highlight, offering a warm, inviting vibe perfect for photos (and yes, my shots turned out Instagram-worthy!). When it comes to food, however, it’s a bit of a hit-and-miss story. The fish and chips were solid—crispy, flavorful, and no complaints there. The hot wings brought a good kick of spice, though they could’ve used a few more dipping sauces to really stand out. The biggest letdown was the garlic parm chicken wings (served in white gravy)—unfortunately bland and lacking character. The beer menu is limited, so craft beer enthusiasts might be left wanting. Service was noticeably slow, which took away from the otherwise relaxed vibe, and prices are on the higher side compared to what’s on offer. Overall: Not a bad stop if ambiance is your priority, but the food and service could definitely be improved. While I might not be rushing back, it’s worth trying once to form your own opinion. If you follow my reviews, consider this a “go for the patio, not the plate” recommendation.

Once in a while, someone or something must come and kick * of lower-end-mediocracy. It’s true for everything. So here I am, will make the whole experience as short as possible. We (four) arrived there at noon, on Sunday for late fashion breakfast. The hall was full and very loud/noisy but I said to myself, ok, lots of families and people look happy – it must be good. The host told us we will have to wait about 15 min. The first thought we had is let’s go and find breakfast elsewhere but we stood there and decided to wait at the bar. The only thing I really wanted was a cup of coffee and that cake – HUGE mountain chocolate cake that smiled at me from the vitrine. So. While sitting there I was observing the cores, the people, the counter workers, the waitresses ran like crazy.. not sure if there were enough staff or not – but the bar server was juggling like a trained monkey between the coffee machine (spoiling the milk by boiling it) and everything else that was on his list. What I did noticed was… Some plates were left almost full after people left. But made a quick pick on Eggs Florentine for both of us. Asked for cappuccino or coffee I guess that wasn’t clear. There was one Fettuccini Alfredo, 1 JD Pettit Filet, One Wafers with add fruit and grapefruit juice (we never received). In the meantime we had water in old cracked plastic ‘glasses’ with a straw. I can be picky on many tiny details. I am. BUT these are minors to the main servings at ‘Symposium Café Restaurant & Lounge’. And keeping the flag of family gathering and friends having the best time and place to have a good talk – cause no one will hear (that loud it was in general all the time). My worse coffee experience in my life – which I never thought one can have in a ‘Café’ just happened there. The person that made it has NO IDEA whatsoever – HOW TO MAKE COFFEE (and the second cup wasn’t improved but more like a dirty soapy dishes water). The third one was a spoon of espresso piled up with milk foam to the top of the cup… I had to dig-in to find it…ohh boy I gave up… The food was OLD. Pasta came from fridge with overpowered sauce. Eggs were overcooked and served cold!! OMG…NEVER ever again… Everything was OLD. BS. We left $107 there. Was it worth it? Hmm. BTW the only ‘good thing’ was the cake. It was 1+1 we took home with us. It was gigantic – and yes… IT...

Made reservations for a birthday brunch at Bolton location . When we arrived they had not prepared our table so we had to wait 10 minutes for the manager to figure out how to push tables together to accommodate 8 adults & 2 children. When we went to be seated there was garbage & liquid all over the floor , & tables were filthy. We stood around awkwardly for another 10 minutes waiting for 3 staff members to figure out how to pick up the garbage & clean the tables & floor. After the garbage was cleared away my husband still had to go get stuff to clean the tops of the table himself . Once our server took our order we waited for about an hour for some of our meals to arrive & then another 10 minutes for the rest. After eating our semi ok meals we happened to witness the manager Merella cut someones very large birthday cake & put her unwashed dirty hands all over every single slice of cake !!! While behind her we witnessed multiple times the waffle making guy put his unwashed, gloveless hands through his hair , grabbing the waffle with his hands, passing it to another guy who then grab it from him with his hands & then proceeded to put his dirty gloveless hands through his beard & then served it to a customer. When we brought this to the manager Merrella’s attention, all she kept repeatedly asking is,“did your meals taste good”???!!!. I’m disgusted and appalled for what I witnessed. And the so called manager, Mirella, who should not be a manager, needs to be trained in customer service because when the customer is right, there right. She’s ignorant and we will never, ever go back to any symposium ever again. Also we have notified the Ontario health inspector because she thought she didn’t do anything wrong by putting her bare hands in the cake. Absolutely disgusting. U should be assamshed Mirella. Anyone who goes...

Sorry for repost, accidentally deleted it at 2am last night, oops. My family, friends, and I have been coming to Symposium bolton for 3 years now. From our first visit, to last. The food, the atmosphere, and the service top notch. 10+ all around The food, is awesome, very tasty. portions are enormous, and the prices are bang on. The atmosphere is amazing, it's like the show/song cheers, where everybody knows your name. Each time I am there, always run into people I know. The staff makes it feel like home. Save the best to last. the service. All our/my visits every server, from bartender to management, to waitress all of them do an awesome. Not to offend anyone, Melissa stands out beyond infinity. She has been our server from day 1. Melissa has a heart of gold++, drive, and exceptional character, that none compare to. She makes our visits more enjoyable each and every time. Our most recent visit there was to celebrate my 50th. I had friends, co workers take me out here and there. The family sit down/cake had to be at Symposium bolton. I wouldn't have gone anywhere else.I walked in, a lady asked to serve us, I said if you don't mind, I would enjoy having Melissa serve us. Melissas presence more valuable than anything, made my day perfect. From the entrance to the finish, Melissa was beyond amazing. Always on top of things, made sure we were always cared for. Melissa does this for all her clients. I've seen this for 3 plus years. She is unique, in a league of her own. She has drive, passion for her job, including hairstylist, few of my friends have had hair done by her. She is beyond this world She just has it!! she is a precious gem, value her personality, heart beyond. they truly truly broke the mold when they made her. she has permanent spot...
