Terrible service at the pick up counter. Ordered my food at 3:22pm for pick up at 3:55pm. Walked in at 3:55pm and a gentleman at the counter checked and said my order would be just a few more minutes and I could pay now to save time which I did. He then left and went to the restaurant area. A moment later a girl from the kitchen area came out with an order and placed it in a cooler bag behind the cash. I waited thirteen minutes before the guy came back from the resturant and again he said my order would not be much longer. He then went to check for my order and it was not there, it was the order that the girl had placed in the bag behind the cash 13 minutes ago. Why did she not even ask me if I was waiting for an order, or ask if I was Gil, the name on the order. When the gentleman discovered my order in the bag and realized I had been waiting for the order and it was there all along he had no concerns about it, no apology, nothing, but he did ask me to pay again and I had to tell him that I already paid when I came in. Not a good experience and the customer service was non existent. It was not busy and only one two other customers came in after me and the girl from the back took their orders. I ordered 30 min in advance of the pick up time and I was there at the pick up time because we had a short time to eat before we had to be some where and then I wasted 13 minutes due to poor service. Read moreFirst time visiting this location, the food was okay but overall the customer service experience was horrible. Our waitress was very rude, she brought us our food, places it in front of us extremely rudely and walked away forgetting to give us utensils to eat our meal with. There was only one other family there and she would constantly walk past our table but wouldn’t stop to ask if we needed anything (which we did). Once we finally got her attention she winked at us and STILL walked away. She finally came the 5th time around and asked if we wanted the check, we said we needed more Swiss chalet sauce and she finally brought us some. Once we were done eating we asked for the check, she walked away and disappeared for a while. I was tired of waiting so I finally got up and went to the counter to pay. She handed me the machine and stood right beside me and starred at the machine as I entered the tip amount (10% which is generous as she was not helpful at all). She then took the machine away from me before I could pay because it “wasn’t working” she then entered all of the information and gave it back to me and winked at me AGAIN. It wasn’t until I was home that I realized she changed the tip amount from 10% to 25% which is extremely inappropriate in my opinion. Read moreOur waitress came to take our order and we informed her that neither my sister nor I could consume any eggs or meat. We ordered a couple of items and the waitress did not even tell us that the items we were ordering contained eggs until after we ordered it then asked her. We even had to cancel an item because there were eggs after she went to get the item. My restriction on eggs and meat is in due to my personal beliefs, but others are seriously allergic to eggs. This could have been a serious problem if someone who had an allergy consumed the item.
In addition, she did not come to check up on us to see if we were doing okay. We had to call her over. The greek salad that we had ordered had stale lettuce. The lettuce pieces were red. It seems as if it was previously prepared and waiting until someone ordered it. She said that was normal. I feel as if if you are paying for a salad that the ingredients should be fresh and not expiring. I understand the restaurant has to prepare ingredients beforehand so the orders could come out on time, but that doesn't mean you should serve stale lettuce.
In conclusion, I am incredibly disappointed with my dining experience. I always thought Swiss Chalet was a great place to dine and go with friends and family, but it seems like maybe they just don't...
