My son and I came here for lunch after playing ball hockey in the morning. We hadn't been here in a few years so it was good to eat somewhere close to us.
We were the only customers at this time and we had the choice of where to sit. My son decided to sit across from the TV that they had on the wall. The restaurant is a good size with lots of tables. Washrooms were clean.
We ordered our favourites - salmon avocado roll, unagi roll, dynamite roll, salmon sashimi, and miso soup. The restaurant has a promotion to get a free item (salmon sashimi, ginger chicken, special house roll) if you order $55. The server mentioned this to us as we were only $5 off. I thought that was nice of them to mention. We ended up getting yakisoba to take home and chose more salmon sashimi for the free item.
Everything tasted fresh and what sets this place apart from other places is the sashimi is thick and the dynamite and salmon avocado rolls were larger than at other places.
My son and I enjoyed our food and ate everything which is always a good sign. He washed it down with water while I had a green tea.
We had a great experience and I think we will not wait a few years to...
Read moreWent for lunch with my gal pal. I'd seen this place driving by and since it's close to home figured we should check it out.
The server was quiet but polite. The menus were well-thought out with full descriptions, and the space was nice and modern. We ordered some from the lunch special and some a la carte.
The miso soup was lovely and you can tell they used fresh ingredients and not a pretty packaged or soup that had been sitting for a while. The yam tempura wasn't that great as the battery was over thick. Shaping it into squares was a nice esthetic, though somehow I felt the portion size tiny compared to the standard. Also the edamame was WAY over salted and I had to crack them all open while trying to not get too much salt in my mouth from the shell. We got the salmon combo and that was prettily plated and nice. Obviously farmed Atlantic salmon.
For what you get, it's a decent price and decent quality. I'll be back but this will not be my go to sushi place.
Update: Been back twice for take out since and I'll never go back now. Screwed up both orders and the quality for take out is absolute garbage. Wouldn't even fix the order....
Read moreI took my family here for dinner and won’t be going back. I had a horrible experience. Sushi was gross, it was not fresh and poorly prepared.
I ordered Toro and just looking at the color and texture of it, I knew it was not going to taste good.
Gyoza tasted like dumplings purchased from T&T supermarket.
Assorted Tempura - squash had a thick batter and you can tell they were from an old order that was deep fried again. The batter was thick and crunchy rather than light and flakey.
A free dish was provided for spending more than $50. We chose Ginger chicken. Which we had to “remind” them of the promotion that was on the wall. It was fresh and smelled good but it was so sweet and and the chicken was dry.
Our server was not personable or polite. She did not smile and looked like she hated her job.
This restaurant is definitely overpriced for the quality of food and service they provide. This is the first and last time I will be coming here. If I could, I would give them less than a 1 star rating. I have no clue why this restaurant has so many...
