Always a delight when we dine in at the Signal Hill A&W. The food is well prepared and the service is fast and friendly. The STAFF is what truly sets A&W Signal Hill Calgary Alberta location apart from the rest. The Team of LEI, JOAN, AUREAU, TRISHA, IRINA, JO, LISA, MARLOU, DIAN, MARY, etc... They are ALL so thoughful, professional, and courteous. It is normal to see the staff walking around clearing tables and topping up coffee cups in the restaurant area. If they know your name, you can be sure they will use it loudly to greet you upon entering or when your order is ready for pick up. You can tell that they are proud to be associated with A&W. They were awarded a National Service Award which they share with all patrons by displaying the trophy in their Restaurant. Often you can see them feverishly packing school lunches in support of the Health Hungry Programs for participating schools. Remember the good old days when takeout bags were just... bags? No extra charge, no fuss, just a convenient vessel for your leftovers. But now, thanks to some mandatory regulation or perhaps just a clever money-making scheme, you're being asked to fork over an extra dime and a nickel for the privilege of carrying your food home.

Sure, it's not a huge amount of money in the grand scheme of things, but it's the principle of the matter, isn't it? Why should you have to pay for something that used to be free? It's like getting charged for tap water at a restaurant—it's just not right.

So here you are, reluctantly handing over your hard-earned cash for a flimsy plastic bag that probably costs less than a penny to produce. But hey, at least now you have a souvenir to remind you of the good old days when takeout bags were free and life was simpler.

I have never been a big fan of fast food, but about 2 years ago when pregnant found myself craving burgers and discovered the bacon cheddar uncle burger. Yum! Great quality beef, always hot and fresh, crispy fresh lettuce. It is very hard to find good yet alone great employees and feel like the team here is constant which isn't easy. I went last week and modified my order. They made an error and I ended up with things on my burger I wouldn't eat. Guessing a simple mix up and someone else got my order. I called to let them know, it wasn't a long phone call, a simple sincere apology and offered my next order of the same on the house next time plus a free apple pie. I went through the drive through today, let them know what happened, they had it there easy to see with just my name. Today the burger was as I ordered. Hot. Fresh. Delicious. The apple pie was also an amazing treat. Errors happen and how they are delt with makes such a difference. Well done here. Keep up...
