*update, you can see the owner or who ever maybe even the women who was so cold to me and my wife tried to save face. Posting a reply with a number that led to nothing of the sort. When I called no answer ...great and I even left a text message as well....again "lesie" took 0 responsibility for being a horrible owner on grand opening making me and my wife feel so disrespected supporting local. Shame on you leslie.... you only have $$$ in your view not the customer or the experince. Dont go expecting authentic BBQ it's a chain resutant and you will know what I mean.
Food is okay the brisket is dry required the bbq sauce and over priced.. it's a chain store not a real BBQ place. They heat the cornbread in a microwave and it's just such a sad piece of corn bread.
Running around is an older woman with the glasses... I'm guessing the owner, very shrewd and cold if I must say. Doesnt smile at all and is somewhat hovering over everything besides me and my wife who she seemed to not give a care in the world for. Even asked a waiting customer on the pick up side of the counter if he paid.... do you not trust people ???
My wife and I waited for over 30 minutes as order after order was shot out and names were called asking us if we were said person every time ...No and never once did anyone address the fact people who ordered AFTER us were getting there food we were not but we still waited patiently. The shrewd woman owner standing 2 feet from us the entire time didnt ask of we were waiting or anything ...she did NOT care about us as customers.
We found out they LOST a chit receipt for our order.... Why are we being told this almost 40 minutes later. No apologies from the owner just one from the cook in the Back the taller guy thank you for apologizing and being curtious.
To the owner. You should not be allowed to own a restaurant as you dont understand the first thing about customer service. Cold, waiting not tended too, never smiling. The fact she didnt address us once or the staff why we were waiting so long shows her lack...
Read moreI had the pleasure of meeting Jackson and Sandra early November. I was in the area and was looking for something different than the usual McDonald's, on the fly. And, I found BigT's BBQ in Mahogany.
Jackson and Sandra were perfect hosts. Sandra helped pick out a reasonably priced smashed cheese burger and fries (popular). The fries were delicious as well as the burger.
I then couldn't decide (who can in such an establishment) what dessert, so picked the bourbon pecan pie, warmed, topped with vanilla ice cream, and took two pieces of cheese cake home, one slice (pumpkin) gratuitously provided by my hosts Sandra and Jackson. I just couldn't go wrong. Delicious. All of it, delicious.
I checked the bathroom facilities and found them clean. I'm a stickler for a clean, shiny bathroom. My only thought was stainless steel needs to shine, spotless, so a face reflects the beauty it beholds, although this was not a deal breaker. A clean bathroom reflects and indicates overall cleanliness of an establishment and it was clean and fresh.
I would highly recommend this establishment to anyone in Mahogany just on the basis of attentiveness and the graciousness of hosts Sandra and Jackson. I would recommend this establishment for company gatherings and parties, and I could probably recommend them for catering, as well, given the degree of pride Sandra and Jackson have in their restaurant.
To Jackson and Sandra, I raise a glass to a job well done. I wouldn't hesitate to...
Read moreEdit The owner reached out and has made an apology and they are using this as a learning experience for their new staff. I have increased my rating a bit, but I still wasn't pleased with our overall experience.
Absolutely horrible experience. We had a group of 5 and ordered a platter and a few other appies. My son also had a separate pulled pork dinner. The appetizers came out hot, but our meals came out ice cold. I brought my son's pulled pork to the counter to let them know and I got looked at like I was crazy and asked if I wanted it "heated up". The way I was asked made me think it was supposed to be cold, so I asked "is it supposed to be cold?". I again was given a blank stare and told "no, do you want us to heat it up for you?". Sure, heat it up. I go back to the table, and some of the others had dug into the chicken on our platter, which again was ice cold. This time my husband went over to let them know and they asked what we wanted them to do about it. Not once did anyone apologize or try to make things right other than to "heat it up". Like, what? The food eventually came out hot, but was then overcooked and dry and was barely edible. They did end up giving us a bit of extra food and a free desert, but what I wanted more than anything was an apology or someone to acknowledge the mistake. Nothing. Will not...
