New post as of April!!! We gave it another try and I must say it is amazing the changes they have made to the restaurant and the service. They have more servers and they are all very polite and professional. (We had Luke and he was great) The side dishes came up promptly and the amount was sufficient. Not only that, they gave us a refill on all our side dishes without us even asking! Definitely a huge improvement from last time. The food that came out was also delicious! We got the cold noodle, japchae And soon tofu hot pot. All were made really yummy! I'm very glad we have it a 3rd chance. People always say, 3 times a charm!
I would recommend this place to my friends if they ask. Planning to come back more in the future! Maybe the tea will be free by then :)
Below is Original post in march. I came here twice already.
Positive first: Finally a Korean restaurant close to my home! Very convenient location and parking. The soups I ordered were good. The manager was very polite and kind and greeted us at the table asking us how food was.
For the negatives: Firstly the biggest complaint I would say is their side dishes. They serve tiny amounts of it as if it is going to cost them a lot to serve more. (Every Korean restaurant I have been in fives heaping amount of side dish). I asked for more as literally there was less then 15 strands of bean sprouts for my family for 4 and they were asking 50cents for that. Never have I heard of a Korean restaurant charging for more side dishes as it's a given. Secondly, they do not serve the rice tea automatically and free like other Korean places. That was a disappointment as I LoVe Korean rice tea that is served at the restaurants I have been to. Like I said their soups I ordered tasted awesome. However the portions of the meats are too small for the price they are charging. My husband left needing to by TNT food to fill up.
I believe there is room to improve and will definitely give them another shot. Fighting! Would still like to be thankful for having a Korean restaurant...
Read moreBowls Korean BBQ is a Korean restaurant serving many dishes such as soups, meats and rice. Such as Bibimbap, stews and more. They serve Korean BBQ, but not in an all you can eat manner.
The location is nice and convenient. There are many parking spaces and the location is easy to access. Located by the T&T in Harvest Hills. The interior looks clean and has an elegant feel to it.
The soft tofu stew was light and delightful. Providing a warm feeling around the body. The soup came out hot and boiling. It wasn't too salty, but was still full of flavor. The tofu was soft but didn't crumble. There were also some nice seasoned pork belly within the stew.
The Bibimbap was full of flavor. Each spoonful of rice provide great flavors. The servers provide a red sauce which can be mixed into the rice. It is not spicy, the sauce provides a nice zest and tangy flavor. The Bibimbap comes with rice, meat and vegetables all in one bowl. For the best flavor, add the sauce and mix all ingredients.
The service was quick and the food came out in a reasonable amount of time. If customers require more side dishes, just ask the servers. The service was friendly and they were quick to deliver. Occasionally, servers can be hard to track down. The price of the food was reasonable. The price is the average when compared to other Korean restaurants.
Bowls Korean BBQ does not serve all you can eat BBQ. However they provide warm dishes for cold days. Allowing customers to enjoy and try many different types of...
Read moreWent here with my partner this monday for some korean food as Soban by our house was closed. I've driven by this place before, but never came in as the reviews weren't the best when it took over the space that thai restaurant used to be in. Our waitress was friendly, initially. After we placed our order (spicy pork bulgogi, LA galbi, and soon dubu jigae), we waited 20 minutes, the waitress did not provide us with water. I had to wave down another server to get a drink. We then waited another 15-20 minutes before our food arrived. We were provided with one small set of sidedishes (banchans), which included garlic potatos, pickled daikon, kimchi (seems store brought, wasn't fresh kimchi), and bean sprouts.
When our food finally arrived, it was delicious. However, our waitress dropped the ball again. I asked her for a refill on the banchan, she did not grab us any. 20 minutes later, she simply came by to ask if we are done eating. I noticed that a table of 12-14 was arriving and was ordering lots of alcohol. It seemed that all the wait staff's attention went completely on that table, and they had forgotten about all the other customers. I dont usually comment on the service of restaurants too much, and maybe I just had a bad experience because the wait staff felt overwhelmed by the large party. My only expectation from wait staff is for them to bring me the food and drinks I requested, which was not done in this instance. What a shame, I really...
