EDIT: I would’ve preferred to send an email directly and I tried to, but CAPTCHA keeps going over and over and not going through… We’ve been here several times since my first review but for these reasons along with such a bad experience, my rating has gone way down. This is the email I tried to send:
“My family and I came to your harvest Hills location mostly because we were looking forward to sitting on a nice patio, So we made reservations online ahead of time. When we arrived, we were told for future reference you don’t take reservations and that it’s first come first serve which I thought was a little crummy that your Website offered that, as we were Even sent a confirmation email with our selected time…. It would’ve really sucked to get there to know we had nowhere to sit. On top of that, there was one table available, which was dirty so we sat there until it could get cleaned up and the most disheartening thing was the entire section of the patio where all the sun was hitting was completely closed. It wasn’t expected to be as busy as it was. That being said, we sat there in the shade with the wind blowing pretty cold for the most part. We watched many other guests come in and look around with the same disheartened look on their face. We ordered our complementary cheesy garlic fingers with marinara sauce which were honestly really good, and paid for an additional side of Donair sauce, which came out the consistency of water And the temperature of ice so we didn’t even use it although we still paid for it. The fish tacos that we ordered were grey in colour because they were so overcooked, and the chicken was cold. Overall, we will never come back for tacos again, They were absolutely awful. The whole experience from start to finish was really disappointing… We have been to this location numerous times for breakfast and dinner and never had a bad visit at all, but this was absolutely horrendous from start to finish. If it weren’t for our server named Brooke, we would probably consider not going back again. She went above and beyond with a smile on her face, and we could tell how stressed she was even though these things were beyond her control. I have read so many comments on the Facebook foodies page and everything else talking about how awful The brewhouse is, and every time I say we’ve never had a bad experience, but this was honestly that bad. I want you guys to know because I think you can do better and being that I work in customer service I always want to know if I’ve missed the mark so that I can also do better. We paid over $100 just for our meals and drinks not including tip, and it should’ve been far better than what it was” Overall just super disappointing
Great service and great food!! Hannah was...
Read moreI’ve never been to a Canadian Brewhouse before. Some friends had recommended it and I decided to try. As a cook myself, I’ve learned that when trying new places, to always go for the most basic meal you can order. Something that is VERY difficult to mess up. Something majority of restaurants carry. So I chose the beef dip. It was described as sliced roast beef, horseradish mayo (no cheese???? No caramelized onions or mushrooms????) and some sort of bun that I can’t think of the name rn. Paired with Au Jus and a side of your choosing. I chose the fries.
MY GOD I was disgusted. The bun was bleached white, I sense probably super cheap cause it had no taste. I think they forgot to put any horseradish on it because all I got was mayo. The sliced roast beef was gummy, bland and overall looked beige and gross. The au jus was just tragic. It’s like there was no salt (pro tip; au jus is supposed to be salty). When I’d dip my sandwich, it came out slightly grey?? It was super watered down overall. Also it was barely warm!!!! The fries were gross. Not crispy, just total mush. The type of crinkle cut fries you buy in the frozen section of Walmart and cook in your oven…. Also the pina colada I ordered tasted like it had zero pineapple and maybe a dash of coconut. And was garnished with an orange? Overall the food was tragic. If you can’t make a basic, popular dish… why even bother trying anything else? My friends said their food was mediocre. Very bland.
Our server was super sweet tho! And we didn’t have to wait for a table! I’ve read some crappy reviews about this Harvest Hills location. To the manager reading this….. DO BETTER!! You gotta hold your BOH staff to a higher standard cause this was trash. Please train them more or...
Read moreWe just had dinner here for the first time, and I can honestly say I would not recommend it based on our experience. For what the meals all cost, you are not getting bang for your buck The size of the Canadian burger and the $22 cost, let's just say buyer beware, a quarter pounder is twice the size and a quarter of the cost. The accompanying Supreme tater tots were cold. My Sisters Philly Cheesesteak sandwich was none of that. The peppers are supposed to be thin cut and actually cooked, the Philly steak is actually supposed to be paper thin and tender, not pieces of thick cut beef maybe left over from the brunch. Again, cold supreme tater tots. They did offer to replace them, but it took long enough to get our meal, they declined. The brisket shepherds pie had good flavour, but carrots were undercooked and there was meat under only half the skillet, so again for the price, you basically just got potatoes. Two of us ordered the beer battered haddock, two pieces, and they smelled and tasted like the Stampede midway. Either they cooked them in the oil they cook their mini donut dessert in or they used the wrong batter to cook our fish, either way at $23 each, we expected better. They did offer to refire them, but by then, our entire table would have had to refired. The fish was for the most part cooked very well, but I am still tasting mini donuts. Our service was good, and they did give us a 20% discount. I would like to give them another try, maybe stick with the pizza thought, I would like to decide if a place is a total write off by at least trying it again in case this visit they just had the C team working in the kitchen. So decide for yourself, just be aware the high prices don't come with...
