Great little hideaway, like a mullet, business in the front, party in the back. The front of the house is a coffee shop during the day and then boom the back of the house, with a rear entrance is a sneaky little speakeasy.
Went with friends for dinner, fantastic selection of food items and drinks.
I arrived early and started with a martini on the patio, quietly hidden away behind the restaurant. I asked for an uber dry martini, I always say, you can tell the gin about the vermouth but they really shouldn't meet. It was perfect, I had asked for them to surprise me with a botanical gin. I usually ask for that, most places have a botanist gin that other do not carry. I this case it waa a nice house gin that they make with Last Best.
When my friends came a few asked for the same, none of us were disappointed in the martini's.
After some discussion we ordered, The crudo that they had was one done with Scallops, it was a nice blend of flavours and had a bit of a kick. Wonderful
We followed with the Pan con Tomate, This was thier version of a bruschetta, the addition of the sardine was a nice touch, i could have had this a few times, a dish I would order for myself instead of the sharing we did.
Then we moved onto mains, we ordered three Double BP burgers, each of us had a half of one, the burger was nicely seasoned, moist and did not fall apart, that can be an issue in a moister burger. The fries were good but not ourstanding. The burger was outstanding.
We shared the 12oz Prime Sirloin, it was perfectly seasoned and a nice medium rare, the japanese steak sauce was a nice touch, it was large enough that each of us had two nice slices.
The Bucatini Amatriciana was amazing, a bit heavy on the tomatoe sauce but it was otherwise a great addition to our dinner. Nicely flavoured, nothing was overpowering.
The wines were alright, nothing spectacular. I had the white with dinner, the first glass was not on par, as a "natural" wine that can be a challenge sometimes, when I got my second glass the server noted I had returned some of the last and he came back and added to my glass to compensate, we all noted that. Great service.
I would return again and look forward to a few evenings on the patio during the hot summer months.
The service from the moment I walked in the door until we left was well above the norm. At the end the server came to our table with a sample of his gin that he had helped create with Last Best, it was a nice finale to a great evening with friends.

Read moreMy husband and I wanted to check out this new bar and we were SO happy with everything! We had the following food items: Tuna Tartare, Beet Pastrami (GIVE IT A CHANCE it was SO delicious), Halifax Donair, Mushrooms on Toast, Shrimp Ceviche and Gyozas. We initially ordered a couple small plates but the food was so good we couldn’t help but try nearly all of it because the food that came out of that kitchen was absolutely incredible. The gastronomy, the presentation and the entire thought put into the dish shines in every single bite. Amazing…
Thé cocktails were just as great. They have all been created to suit anyone. Every note and flavour put into the cocktails were different and just coincided amazingly with each other. The thought and care put into every drink can be seen by watching the bartender - they’re not just making a drink. They’re really creating an experience for you; And what an amazing experience all the cocktails were. These are no ordinary bartenders slinging drinks - they are spraying this into the glass and stirring this and carefully cutting this to ensure that your drink comes out with the best flavour overall.
The overall atmosphere was incredible. Not only has the room given you a sense of beauty with the design and decor, but the staff makes it feel like HOME. The small bar has a small staff that introduces themselves like any bar would, but what sets this bar apart is that you actually get to know them. We learnt so much about the food and the cocktails from asking questions about it, and the staff was excited to answer and share the details of the dishes, drinks and the bar as a whole.
I couldn’t have asked for a better place to get some food and drinks on a Friday night in Inglewood. I am so excited to come back.
Congrats to the staff on holding up a new standard for a small bar in Calgary - with how quickly people were filling the seats, and with our experience here, they have curated a...
Read moreWe sat on the patio so missed out on the atmosphere of the restaurant inside. I am unsure what they are branding themselves as. The cocktails were not good enough IMO to be a cocktail bar / lounge and the food options, price range and serving sizes don’t really land them in the “dinner restaurant” category. Loads of other restaurants that have shareable plates but bigger sizes at about the same price allows you to feel like you are there for a meal.
The food was good for the most part, but the very small size of the servings for the price was a surprise. The prices below are approx as I couldn’t quite recall and their website doesn’t state prices.
Tuna crudo - very tasty, but with only 4 small pieces for $19 overpriced.
Beet salad - $16 and tasty - price was ok for the quality and amount.
Garlic shrimp - 4 for $19. Tasted good, but way too much for 4 shrimp.
East end sourdough - this was ridiculous. We literally got ONE SLICE of sourdough break cut in half for $7. So disappointing. Bread is like the cheapest thing to offer and to charge $7 for a slice of bread was actually unbelievable.
Grilled carrots - $16 the carrots were undercooked (they credited this for us) and smothered in so much sauce that you wouldn’t have been able to taste the obviously fresh carrots.
Drinks - High Roller and The Grind. Both good for the price of $16, but didn’t feel like refined cocktails like those at other cocktail lounges...
