I would give zero stars if I could. While the food quality is just average, the portion sizes are quite small for the price. However, my biggest concern is the inconsistency in customer service.
On one occasion, when I dined with an elderly relative, the staff were quite polite and accommodating. However, when I visited alone, the treatment was noticeably different. I ordered a bowl of rice vermicelli with toppings, but the staff later told me they had run out. I asked if I could keep the toppings but switch to rice noodles instead, and the staff member firmly said no, insisting that I choose another dish.
Shortly after, a family at the next table ordered the same rice vermicelli. The same staff member told them it was unavailable but then proactively offered them the rice noodles as a substitute—the exact option I had requested but was denied. This left me wondering: Why was I treated differently? Was it because I was dining alone? Was it because I looked young?
This kind of service inconsistency is unacceptable. I had hoped for a fair and respectful dining experience, but unfortunately, I left feeling disappointed...
Read moreI visited cafe HK for the first time, I always go to Tpot next door. Food was great with good value.
I tried Szechuan style noodle with chicken. It had a lot of toppings on top, starting with juicy chicken thigh, fish cake, deep fried tofu, ground pork with chive, bean curd, spring onion, etc…soup was light, probably premade soup mix with msg, not very spicy. I liked the dish, it was so hearty!
I also tried half and half baked rice, it was good too. There is another one which comes on sizzling hot plate, that one would have been better choice. You can also order dim sum from T pot, we ordered bean curd roll with shrimp, it was delicious!
Food came fast and server comes and top up tea pretty often. I paid extra to upgrade my drink to red bean and milk slush, it was also delicious and great value for the price.
Overall, I left the restaurant stuffed, everything was good and potion was so big. I’d definitely come back and try...
Read moreCame here on a Saturday for a late lunch (brunch). First off, my review is mostly based on the food. I will make the assumption that most Chinese restaurants are typically slow service and when you go to a restaurant expecting it that way then you will have a good time.
The restaurant location is actually 2 restaurants - the bigger T-Pot and the smaller Cafe HK. We sat on the cafe side as we always liked HK style food. Dim Sum is also available on the cafe side.
We ordered a selection of our usual Dim Sum favourites like Har Gow, Siu Mai, Rice crepe with Shrimp, Beef Tripe, and Deep Fried Shrimp dumplings. Everything was super good. One thing to note is the fried shrimp dumplings uses wonton wraps so it's different texture than usual. We also ordered HK French toast and Hainanese Style Chicken. Really good!
Food came out quick and like I said if you go in knowing typically service will be slow you can enjoy yourself. We...
