I mentioned to the person who answered the phone that we will have 2 toddlers so that they could arrange for us with a wider space for two high chairs. When we arrived at the restaurant, the manager Leslie led us to two back to back two separate tables, and told us that’s all they had, despite that I made the reservation three days in advance. At that time there was still a 8 people table available, and Leslie could not give an appropriate reason for not offering us that table, he was saving up the 8 people table for a 7 people group instead of a 8 people group. And he was never being apologetic that he or other staff made a bad arrangement on the tables. He was extremely rude, and his attitude basically said that suck it up, take the tables or leave, I don’t need your business. I’m not sure what is the priority of the reservations policy at the restaurant, our reservation time was earlier than the 7 people group, and none of us was late, why would our group get bumped to separate tables? And I thought I was being thoughtful by informing that we will have 2 toddlers who need highchairs, but apparently Leslie thinks it is safe for the kids to sit on the aisle than the corner end seats where no one could walks pass by them. Contacted the management team for a phone call and explanation. They replied and promised they will call, two months passed no one ever called or apologised to us. Will never visit again! The short old man with the receding hairline at the front was the rudest employee I’ve ever encountered! Cancelled our reservation less than an hour before without informing or changing on the yelp app. Never got a written cancellation through text, email, even when I clicked on the app it still showed I was confirmed when I talked to another staff. He then proceeds to yell at the customers for showing up & blames everyone except his poor management. He claimed to have left a voicemail which was never received & when I told him he could’ve tried to contact me in ANY OTHER WAY a second time he laughed in my face. What’s so funny about being incompetent at your job with no basic communication skills at that ripe age?
I have NEVER had a restaurant blame a paying customer for showing up to their CONFIRMED reservation. He also blamed Yelp when that’s the service provider Chine CHOOSES to use AND you can adjust the amount of reservations received and booked. He did not offer any walk-in or alternatives & resorted to saying “there’s no tables” when half the restaurant was empty & another employee showed me the reservation list that had only 1 other reso at the same time.
