Chopped Leaf — Restaurant in Calgary

As we have enjoyed 18+ different chopped leaf locations in our travels in the last two years we decided to give this location a try.

I am hoping we found an evening that something happened and they were understaffed because when we arrived there were 2 couples ahead of us and 2 folks waiting for food. This was too much for the 2 people working to handle in an efficient manner. The food was taking much longer to get prepared and the person working the point of sale kept leaving between orders slowing that process down as well.

Once our food was ordered we sat and waited for the orders before us to get processed. When they called for my wife's salad and soup I went up and got it for her. There was still no mention of my quesadilla and soup. Then I watched as an extremely over-cooked was pulled from the salamander and cut and plated before being called for, I then asked about the second soup and only then was it prepared.

Taking the quesadilla back to my table I ate the soup and waited until the rush was over before asking for it to be replaced with one that was not so over cooked. The cook apologized and made me a much better one now that they were not too busy. Once that was corrected all of the food was fantastic, but I have to remove a star as the burnt should have just been discarded and another made with an apology for the wait,...

The worker spoke very quietly, making it quite difficult to hear him. He also messed up our order and did not want to fix it. We ordered one salad and one bowl, but he ended up making the salad as a bowl and the bowl as a salad.

When we asked him to correct the mistake, he said he could only fix one item and chose to fix the salad. He "fixed" the salad by simply scooping everything off the bowl and putting it onto lettuce; however, we still found grains of rice left in the salad. The avocado in the salad was not ripe and was quite hard, and the salad only included three small pieces of chicken. To make up for the incorrect bowl, he gave me a bowl of rice. I then had to spend 10 minutes picking everything out of the salad and moving it onto the rice myself.

I will not be returning to this location and will be filing a chargeback with my bank, as this poor level of service is unacceptable given how much Chopped Leaf charges...

Unfortunately I no longer go to this location. I was a regular here and came multiple times per week pretty often. I went one day on lunch and the salad had multiple pieces of lettuce that was rotting and had a bitter flavour. I was not able to eat the salad and unfortunately did not have time to go back. I mentioned it the next time I was there and all they offered me was complimentary protein which was disappointing as I had to waste the total cost on my last salad. I went through with it anyways and this salad had bad lettuce as well! I went back in and they swapped the salad for something else but I wasn’t very happy with the alternate choice. I reached out via twitter and the email address listed for feedback but have not heard any response weeks later. Pretty disappointed in this location as I went here pretty often and spent a lot of money here. I will not go back to this location and will avoid chopped leaf...
