Red Box Gourmet is highly recommended for its delicious, high quality products. I love everything I have bought from this bakery/ store. My family esp. my kids (who have very discriminating palate) love the ube cake & mango cake. The cake is soft and spongy and the icing is creamy, and we can certainly taste the ube & mango flavors. The cakes are not too sweet (unlike grocery store bought cakes which I find super sweet and I don't like!!), just the right balance of sweetness. I also love their ube haleya in the bottle. Again, I find the grocery store bought haleya from the Philippines way too sweet & I think they use sweet potato (camote) instead of ube (purple yam). Theirs is the real deal!! I also love their ensaymada & mamon in different flavors, again soft and spongy, melts in your mouth, great with coffee for breakfast or snacks! I have bought their bibingka, level up from the bibingka I know from back home in the Phil. I also enjoyed their puto bumbong, which may be seasonal. I was so happy I tasted it during the Christmas season, as it reminded me of Christmas in the Philippines. Christina and Richard are always friendly and accommodating, they can also do delivery which is huge for me as I don't drive. I don't mind paying the extra for delivery as it is so worth the value for my money. Their pricing is competitive and reasonable, other items are cheaper compared to other retailers, and not as expensive as the bakery in the big Filipino grocery here in Calgary. Definitely my go-to place if I want good quality baked products and...
Read moreBought this assorted ensaymada on Thursday July 25th. Then best before date was August 18th. It so happens after 4 days already had a molds on it on a room temperature. And i call them and they told me that we should put in the fridge instead. But there’s nothing on the label that KEEP REFRIGERATE. We are regular customer here. Talk to the lady on phone, and she told me that we need to put in fridge coz of the hot weather looks like it’s our fault. Instead of apologizing or even comfort us for what happens. Telling me that just only first time only that someone complain about their Ensaymada all i know was dry. We support local business of Filipino’s here. She took my number and never...
Read moreA delightful little Filipino bakery, quietly tucked away on the corner 36th street and Rundlehorn drive. (Park in the front, walk around to the back). Beautifully decorated, friendly staff and an amazing selection of gourmet goodies to snack and nibble on. Staff are very attentive, polite and quick to make your order. We ordered the Taro and avocado bubble tea with the egg pie. I've honestly never seen such a HUGE bubble tea before. (See photos) at such a great price, my kids were beyond amazed and still couldn't finish it at home. (More for me!) I wish well for this bakery, they really deserve 10 🌟! I'll be back weekly for...
