I ordered 3 dozen dinner buns for Thanksgiving dinner, and my experience with Cobs was disappointing from start to finish. While paying for my order the two young girls at the front desk were discussing who should take their smoke break first, which is not exactly appetizing when buying fresh bread. I got the buns home and took them from the bag and they were extremely hard, almost felt stale. I pulled the first bun out and it actually crumbled in my hand. Every single bun was hard as a rock and tough enough to break teeth. I returned them 30 minutes later, and was not questioned, the girl just took them didn't ask what was wrong just gave me my money back, which leads me to believe this wasn't the first time bread was returned. She clearly did not want my business or to fix the problem with new buns. I asked if they were fresh and she just replied with a simple "yep" and walked away. Needless to say I won't be bringing my business back to Cobs 130th with the disappointing baking and even more disappointing service, when I can get better product and better...
Read moreYou know I love Cobs bread, I very seldom had bread in my house before being introduced to Cobs as I am not much of a bread eater by habit, I now eat bread only from cobs. Now to get me into sweet pastries etc, that would be pretty hard to do, I don't eat dessert and I don't buy cakes and pastries, however I did try a scone from Cobs, and enjoyed it so much that I bought another one 2 months later........happy to say that I won't be hooked now, as I saw this lovely blueberry lemon scone in the display that caught my attention and thought it was time to try another, it looked full of blueberries and a real nice size, with icing on top, well the one I got was sparse with the fruit and just a lick of icing on top, was surely the runt of the litter, so thanks Cobs you cured a potential scone buyer who might have gotten hooked, will just stick to bread now and again, as I love...
Read moreWe regularly deal with Cobb @ 130th in Calgary. Every Tuesday we purchase a marble and dark rye. Several times the bread has been hollow, as it was yesterday. When I returned it today, the counter gal (and I did not get her name and they don't answer the phone to get it), was so rude to me. She initially refused a refund, questioning if I even bought it @ their location). The fact that she served me yesterday and other times was of little consequence....they don't value their repeat customers. She reluctantly gave me the $8+ refund (slapping it aggressively down on the counter) and then chucked the 2 loaves in the garbage from a distance. How she every planned to show it to the baker??. Never going back to Cobb and writing a Google review to warn others. Anne After contacting head office, the store manager did contact me...
