Cora Breakfast and Lunch - Evanston — Restaurant in Calgary

Terrible experience overall. Our server while very sweet and friendly, was quite bad at her job of serving. I would like to mention the restaurant wasn't very busy at all. We ordered our coffee and smoothie and got those on time and tasted delicious. But that's where the pleasant experience ended. Ordered the meal, 30 minutes later, tables who had sat down after us got their meals and we stared at each other's faces. The server kept on walking around, attending to her one other table, not bothered our meals. When I called her over and asked about our meals she goes to the computer screen and quickly disappears towards the kitchen...now she either forgot to rang our order in OR as she said, appearing, 2 minutes later, the kitchen never got the ticket. We got the hastily prepared meal a few minutes later. The food was not the usual Cora goodness that we are used to. Later during the meal - the server had to be waved at to get more coffee. We spotted the manager in the kitchen who did not bother to come to our table to own up to the error. She sent a couple of free smoothie coupons on a minimum $14 food purchase. Not sure if we will go back. It's disappointing that our neighbourhood Cora is not living up to their brand's...

The decor and atmosphere were great when you walk in. At first we were greeted by a welcoming hostess who brought us to our table.

We arrived at around 1:15 on a Saturday and the restaurant was not packed at all - only 5 tables with 3 already eating when we arrived. I’ve been to several Coras in Canada and the one here in Brentwood and never have I waited 45 mins for food to arrive.

When the food finally arrived, there was a hair in my omelette - a long strand of brown hair. What really put the nail in the coffin was the service - the thoughtful touch of lids for toddler drinks to prevent spilling was something I expected (given past experiences at different Cora branches) esp. given it is a family friendly chain but not this one and the server who helped us that day was not the most helpful and rarely came to check on us compared to the table next to us who she also helped.

All in all, I would not come back again. The food was average (not worth $80 imo) and service was sub par - I would rather go to Stacked next time or drive further out to the Cora...

Cora is typically a great place to go for brunch, however this location was a huge disappointment. I ordered the vegetarian omelet and added cheddar cheese, which was good but the cheese wasn't added. I brought this to our servers attention, showed him the omelet, I wasn't even half done, and asked that the cheese be taken off the bill. Once it was time to pay the server informed me that the manager had looked at the cameras in the kitchen, that cheese was included and if I chose to I could speak with the manager but it would not be removed from the bill. Wow, I guess I could have made a scene but for the sake of a few dollars I chose to pay and leave. I will never go back to this location and will write my experience on all platforms. No customer service, no accountability, the manager didn't even have the respect to come speak to me themself, instead sent the young man who had served us. Cora corporate should be ashamed to have...
