I stopped here for the first time based on Google reviews and a friend's recommendation. I was not disappointed! I got a chicken shawarma for myself and a beef donair for my husband as well as Greek salad. The food was amazing! Both the chicken shawarma and the beef Donair were super balanced and flavourful. The meat was really fresh, the sauce was a really good consistency and taste for both of the items, and the vegetables and pickles were as they should be. What I also have to commend them on was the fact that the sandwiches were not oversauced . My drive home was an hour from the restaurant and when I got home, everything was beautiful when we took them out of the wraps. Nothing leaking out , nothing soft. They were wonderful. We were both full from our wraps, so the Greek salad did not get eaten until the next day. Everything was super fresh and still crunchy when we ate it. The flavor of the salad dressing was excellent as well.
The service. Well I will say it was exceptional! I was the only person in the restaurant at that time. And the gentleman helping me was super engaging and we had a nice pleasant conversation. He gave me a piece of baklava during our conversation and it was delicious. I was really impressed with how engaging he was and very pleasant. I will definitely be back. Again, this was one of the best best shawarma that we have had. I know everyone has their own tastes. I've had a lot of shawarma from a lot of places and tasted good and bad food. I was super impressed with this food and the service. I do not live in Calgary, but the combination of the wonderful food and the service will have me going back and driving out of the way to go there.
And.... this is exactly what I did this Saturday. I reattended again and ordered another chicken shawarma, another beef Donair, and this time I also purchased a container of baklava. I had a wonderful conversation with the gentleman behind the counter that was helping me. This was a different gentleman the last time. The restaurant was extremely clean both in the restaurant area as well as behind the preparation counter. The food was as good as it was the last time! It made it home again without getting soggy. So two of two visits, super consistent with the excellent food and preparation. The baklava was awesome. Most baklava I have purchased from other locations that prepared or sell it, it is basically swimming in a syrup. Way too much and way to sweet! Not this baklava. It was more on the dry side, so you could actually taste the flavour of the baklava. And it held together beautifully as we ate it. This is definitely going to be one of my go-to places when I'm purchasing food to take home when I'm in Calgary for various reasons. Keep up the good work! Thank you for the wonderful food and I really appreciate being treated with a smile and a great conversation...
Read moreWe ordered the Grilled Family BBQ for 3, Beef Shawarma, and Arabic Chicken Shawarma. Let’s start with the Beef Shawarma — hands down, the best I’ve had in Calgary. I’ve tried so many places across the city, and none of them come close to the authentic taste that reminds you of back home. The beef is tender, juicy, and perfectly seasoned. The portion is generous and very satisfying.
The Arabic Chicken Shawarma is a full meal on its own, including fries, condiments, and garlic sauce. The chicken is juicy and well-seasoned, but what really stood out were the fries — surprisingly crispy and flavorful, which is rare for delivery fries that are usually soggy and bland. This was the total opposite.
The Grilled Family BBQ for 3 was the main event: three skewers of beef kebab, three skewers of chicken tawook, and we added a skewer of ribeye beef. It all comes served over a bed of seasoned rice with sides of onion and parsley, seasoned baked potato, and grilled tomatoes. The ribeye skewer was tender, well-seasoned, and full of flavor. The beef kebabs were excellent — not dry like most kebabs in Calgary — and the chicken tawook was juicy and tender.
The rice was nicely seasoned, and the sides of potato and onion-parsley salad were fresh and flavorful. The condiments — hummus, garlic sauce, and tahini — were all authentic and absolutely delicious.
Overall, our experience was excellent. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and satisfying. We’ll definitely be...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at a five-star restaurant and I must say that the mixed meat wrap was a standout dish that I thoroughly enjoyed. From the moment the dish was presented to me, I could tell that it was going to be a special experience.
The wrap was expertly crafted with a perfect balance of flavors and textures. The mixed meats were tender, juicy and packed with flavor, complemented perfectly by the fresh herbs and crisp vegetables. The wrap was wrapped in a warm, fresh flatbread that was light and fluffy.
The presentation was also top-notch. The wrap was beautifully arranged on the plate, with vibrant colors that were a feast for the eyes as well as the palate. The attention to detail was evident in every aspect of the dish.
The service at the restaurant was exceptional as well. The staff were attentive, friendly and knowledgeable, and they made the dining experience truly enjoyable. The ambiance of the restaurant was also fantastic, with a cozy and inviting atmosphere that made me feel right at home.
