Firstly, I am sincerely a big fan of Deville Coffee and rarely take the time to write reviews of poor experiences. However, my experience today was quite disheartening.
Today, I received the devastating news that a loved one is losing their battle with cancer. In my grief, I found myself desperately seeking a brief moment of the comfort of a "cronut."
I called the store in advance to ensure they had some available and requested that one be reserved for me. The person on the phone confirmed that six were available and assured me they would set one aside as I was heading over immediately.
Despite my clear communication and the assurance I received over the phone, the staff seemed clueless about my request. I didn't want to make a fuss in my deep sorrow, but I couldn't help but feel absurdly disappointed by the whole ordeal.
After the confusion at the store, I briefly stepped outside and checked my browsing & call history to confirm that I had indeed called the correct location. As expected, the number matched. To be sure, I approached the barista at the front, who confirmed the phone number on my screen. I said thank you and left quietly.
While my grief undoubtedly colours my perspective, it doesn't diminish the negative experience I had today. Even amidst my sorrow, as someone who has spent their entire career in the customer service industry, I understand service quality's impact on lasting impressions and brand loyalty....

The staff here are friendly, composed, and attentive, even when things don’t go perfectly, they communicate clearly, offer options, and make you feel welcome. It’s rare to find a team that handles busy moments and technical hiccups with this level of professionalism and warmth.
The space is clean, well-organized, and thoughtfully managed. Drinks are consistent, food is fresh and always stocked, and they never use the excuse of we're out unless its very late to closing and even then its intentionally stocked so that rarely happens. Shamous (fulltime worker) is always going the extra mile. They give customers a sense that everyone working here genuinely cares about the customer experience.
This is the kind of service that earns trust and keeps people coming back. I come here multiple times a week to get a little work done and meet colleagues for coffee chats or search for rental listing for clients. Its a great place to take remote calls while having a quick lunch inside (with a/c it can be cold) and outside with...
Read moreJust before heading to work for the day, I decided to stop at Deville and grab a beverage and a snack. I purchased a chai latte and a blueberry scone. After taking a bite out of the blueberry scone that I purchased, I saw some mold inside of the scone. I split open the blueberry scone and the whole inside of it was covered in more mold. I received food poisoning from this and have addressed it to management. I was notified that the store manager named Keaton would contact me as soon as possible after the situation had occurred. Four days later and not a single response was sent. Something has to be done about this as this is not the proper way to be doing business. Someone has to take accountability for this mistake as the pastries are not being cleaned out and replaced with new ones. Below is a photo of what the scone...
