On a quick outing my wife and I found ourselves looking for something different for lunch. We had heard plenty of good things about EoS so we popped in. The first thing I noticed was that the establishment was clean but completely empty a few staff in the kitchen were ready and friendly. We opted to have two classic sandwiches a side of wedges and fountain drinks, which came in at a whopping 31.45$ (this is where I wondered why we did not go next door to Subway for 7.99$ foot longs) regardless we figured maybe this was going to be higher quality. Unfortunately that was not the case both of us rated the ingredients and the quality of the sides slightly less than their competitors. To be honest I was really dismayed by what seemed to be bulk brand sandwich meat smothered in a mostly uneventful smattering of tasteless cheese, mayo and a limp roamine leaf. The bread was nice and soft maybe even better than the subway but I still discarded over half of it, as it was soaked in too much mayo. Potato wedges were good but I'm guessing they might have been cooked in a microwave or maybe an air fryer they certainly were not fried or crisp. My wife's "meat ball sandwich" would make Italians cry. All things considered if you need a quick unfussy meal this is fine but expensive for what you get. Even Safeway deli makes a better panini sandwich than this at half the cost. I wish the ingredients were special or different, when I order an expensive sandwich I expect shaved poultry not limp salty sandwich meat I can buy at Walmart for .98 cents. Probably won't be back, the Earl of the sandwich should likely be referred to...
Read moreI've ordered from Earl of Sandwich a few times now through Uber Eats and absolutely LOVED the food every time. I'm a die hard sandwich fan, so this place tickles all my cravings. The holiday turkey sandwich and the Cubano are fantastic, and my husband and I love the caesar salad (fresh, crispy and tasty) and I always have a mac n cheese as well.. super creamy, flavorful and not mushy.
The last time we ordered, the driver was handed the wrong order at the restaurant so when it arrived, I ripped it open only to find a chicken ceasar wrap and Italian sandwich (not my order, or something I normally would order). I called the driver, who told me to call Uber, who suggested I call the restaurant. I was hungry and dissapointed because I had been so looking forward to the order so I called the store (now about 15 minutes before closing). I let them know that I received the wrong order and they immediately apologized profusely, and explained that they had accidentally switched my order with another. Then he took down my information and offered to remake and deliver the order themselves. A half hour later, the sweetest fellow shows up at my door with my hot, fresh sandwiches, all full of apologies. I could not believe how quick they were to fix the issue and how far above and beyond they went to make it right for me. Everyone makes mistakes, but its how you handle them that matters. How they handled this experience earned...
Read moreToday we went to this new sandwich place, that opened in July 2022 at South Trail Crossing called Earl of Sandwich. Which in 2004, two direct descendants of the inventor of the sandwich, partnered with Robert Earl, founder and CEO of Planet Hollywood®, launched the Earl of Sandwich® restaurants. They have locations in the U.S. and a few in Canada (Two in Edmonton and one in Calgary) We tried a few things here, we ordered their Holiday Turkey, Original 1776, Earl Cobb Wrap, French Dip, Holiday Ham sandwiches. We also had their cheesy Mac & Cheese, Potato wedges and their Caprese Salad. The sandwiches are really good, I love the light fresh soft bun. The holiday ham had sweet potato mash and seriously it was like eating Easter or Thanksgiving dinner in a bun. The Holiday turkey had cornbread stuffing and cranberry sauce.Their Mac & Cheese was a hit for everyone, cheesy and creamy. I'm saving my Original 1776 for lunch, the french dip was a bit bland not enough beef or caramelized onions and the dip was quite bland as well. The Caprese salad was very lacking, not worth it and a disappointment. The potato wedges was dry and it also lacked flavour. Should check it out if your near that part of town....
