I don’t know where to start, this is gunna be long winded, you’ve been warned lol! I’m not sure if I believe in Karma or Destiny, but I believe in being in the right place at the right time... a divine intervention if u will. With that being said my husband and I have been trying to get into the Ironwood for years, but it was either booked or we would forget to book lol. Well we finally made reservations, just to receive a call a week later stating the he original band has cancelled. My thoughts were, “No matter, we are in it for the culture/experience”, so we kept our reservations hoping we would enjoy the newly booked talent just as much. Well MRS. AMY BISHOP, I was speechless for a moment, your stage presence is so commanding I was enthralled for the whole 3 hours!!!!! When I walked down the aisle towards my husband on our wedding day in 2014, it was to Bon Jovi Hallelujah. (Smile-Sixx AM was our second wedding song). I have NEVER heard it sang the way u did tonight, I was shaking in tears......I swear you made god cry with pride! I just had to let u know how much your music and personality has affected me tonight, and that u are in my prayers, as u deserve all the success that comes your way. Keep belting out those beautiful melodies, my newest favourite performer! Oh and did I mention how amazing the food was?! I was expecting the food quality that you tend to get with any dinner theatre; although, we were pleasantly surprised at how well made the entrees were. The whole night was more than worth every single penny...

Love the Ironwood - have enjoyed it for years.
New location, the old Garry Theatre in Inglewood, has benefited artists a great deal. Both the stage & backstage areas are larger - much apprecited by those that play there.
This venue hosts a variety of musical genres - from the amatuer to the seasoned veterans.
Every 2nd week, Kit Johnson & Tim Leacock, both great muscians themselves, host an open mic nite. You must arrive early in the evening to be added to the list if you expect to be on stage before midnight!
Other regular gigs include the Blues Jams Saturdays, Chicks with Licks, Fools on Stools. *check out the website for details of each
Last week I had the opportunity to see Peter Katz, who was nominated for "New/Emerging Artist" Canadian Folk Music Artist Award. Included in the evening was a set by Roger Marin - I had never heard them before, and absolutely loved them. That's what's special about the Ironwood. Bottom line, the music is great.
Enjoyed visiting the new location on the 2nd evening that it was open in April 2010. Artist - an absolute favorite of mine - Tom Russell. The food special that evening - Bison Steak. Total awesomeness.
The menu is limited, but food is good. Wish they would add the Bison Steak to the regular menu - but so far it hasn't happened. Personal favorite is the Warm Spinach and Artichoke Dip.
They would get a rating of 5 from me if they would change 1 thing... In summer it was HOT (no air-conditioning)nì
Love this place - I check their...
Read moreAVOID AT ALL COSTS! Especially if you're a person of colour. I guess segregation is alive and well here.
After paying an entry fee to attend a music event here, my father attempted to speak to a member of the staff here, inquiring about an event that was taking place at the time. When he asked a man carrying food if he worked at this establishment, the man snarkily replied "I own the place, what do you want?!" When my father tried to continue the conversation, the man turned and walked away. Absolutely disgusting behaviour on the part of the owner. Maybe it had something to do with the fact that my dad was one of the only people of colour in the vicinity.
It seems as if this owner went to the back and instructed his staff to not serve my father, because he waited for a drink for a long time afterwards, and not a single bartender allowed him to say his order. For this to happen at a music event is appalling - as a lover of music, my dad should have been welcomed in the same manner that other (white)...
