This place was recommended by my friend who is Thai, so I thought I would try it! As soon as you walk it, you are whisked away to some place magical! The atmosphere is amazing and so unique! I usually eat Pad Thai but it can be hit or miss at most places, usually a miss! The only thing I ordered was the Pad Thai without shrimp just as a personal preference. The plating was beautiful, even when I walked in and saw some others food, it looked beautifully plated. The service was great, they are authentically dressed as well. I was very happy, even the water was lemon flavored I believe, was all well done.
The ONLY reason I gave 4 stars rather than 5 - I looked at the online menu and noticed the Pad Thai was $18, when I saw the menu, it was $20. Ok, maybe the website wasn't updated. They have a drive-thru, and when I went to pay, I noticed their drive-thru take-out menu had Pad Thai and it was $12.95!!! I thought this must be old, so I asked if this was their current drive-thru price, and she said it was. When I left, I grabbed a take-out menu, the Pad Thai was $18 there. So, if you drive thru, maybe you don't get the feel of the inside or the service but the Pad Thai is only $12.95. If you decide to do take out and pick it up inside, you pay a $5.05 premium totaling $18, and if you decide to have a seat, and take it all in, that's yet another $2 premium from the drive-thru. I guess MAYBE I can see their thought process of take-out vs dine-in as lots of places do a 10% discount for take-out. But from drive-thru to dine-in being a $7 difference, in this day and age - that's HUGE!! I cannot see myself bothering to go inside to eat again, if I go back, pretty sure it will be through the drive-thru. Guess it will save them some dishes and fancy plating. Never saw a place with such drastic pricing differences- not even on Skip!! Still kind of mind blown! I guess the other bad thing is if you want to head back out west on 16th....Goodluck! Have to turn right onto 16th Ave or turn right on 19th Street - unless I missed a gap in the fence letting you behind...

As someone who has genuinely enjoyed Juree’s Thai Place in the past, it’s disappointing to witness how far the quality has declined. What was once a go-to spot for flavourful, comforting Thai cuisine now feels like a restaurant overwhelmed by its own demand—and sadly, its customers are paying the price.
For Mother’s Day, I placed a large $180 takeout order for a family celebration. I called at 5:00 PM and was told nothing would be ready until 7:30. Despite the long wait, I confirmed the order, trusting in the reputation they had once earned.
When I arrived, I was met with chaos. The small parking lot was full—not with diners enjoying a meal, but with frustrated customers waiting for their delayed takeout orders. Inside, the atmosphere was tense. Staff avoided eye contact, clearly aware of the mounting dissatisfaction. I waited an additional 25–30 minutes past my scheduled time with not so much as an apology.
When I got the food home—a short 10- to 15-minute drive—the disappointment deepened. The curries were shockingly watered down, almost flavourless. The chicken skewers were so thin and skimpy they looked like chicken skin on a stick. The rice was rock hard. We had ordered six or seven dishes, and not a single one lived up to expectations. To top it off, everything was cold.
There was no gesture of goodwill. No apology. Not even a complimentary item to acknowledge the long wait and poor quality. For a restaurant charging premium prices, that’s inexcusable.
Juree’s feels like a place trying to do too much—taking on more orders than their kitchen and staff can reasonably handle, and sacrificing quality and care in the process. Rather than prioritize volume, perhaps it’s time to refocus on what once made this spot special.
Final Verdict: 2/10. A cold, disorganized, and deeply underwhelming experience. Proceed with caution—this is not the Juree’s...
Read moreI’ve been to this restaurant many times and always enjoyed the food and service, until last night. We went with friends and ordered a few dishes, including one called “crispy pork with Chinese kale.” When the Tom Yam soup was served, we had no plates or bowls, so we had to request them. Later, when all the food arrived, we found the pork dish was tough and hard to chew, but no server checked on us until we were almost finished. At that point, we decided to give some feedback, mentioning that the pork was hard to chew, hoping they’d inform the kitchen for future improvements. However, the server responded, “You should have told us earlier. Now there’s nothing we can do.” I was sharing feedback without expecting anything in return, so I felt offended by the response, as it made me feel like we were being dismissed as if we were after a discount. I work in the restaurant industry too, and I know there are many better ways to handle such feedback. And at the end I don't know why they ask the lady seems like the kitchen staff to handle the situation. They seems to want to make things right. But then she asked if we are Chinese, I mean this is another red flag. We are not, but it doesn't matter if we are or not Chinese. I don't think the small talk you were trying was appropriate. Cause does it make any different if we were any other country of people? This experience has left me disappointed, and I...
