KFC — Restaurant in Calgary

Food wise: Honestly, this location does not have the same chicken as any KFC I've ever been to. Unfortunately not in the way I could applaud. The chicken has a lot, and I mean a lot!!! of pepper. (Ouch). Not very good over all even putting aside the spices. Thoroughly cooked though. And RED ALERT!!! (The true unforgivable sin) the gravy doesn't even taste relatively close to classic KFC gravy. It tastes like bland gravy out of a 99 cent packet probably purchased at the dollar store down the street. But of course costs much more. I sorta expect what I pay for, and it was definitely not KFC gravy. No offence to the people that work hard at this location, I respect hard work and taking pride in what one does, but giving the benefit of a doubt I will say, REGULAR recipes need to be followed or more people than just myself are going to drive the extra five to ten kilometres, even though we may be next door, to go to a KFC that can cook their food to spec. This could be an isolated incident, so please don't take my word for it and try it yourself. But overall my food experience had much to be left desired. I sincerely hope this location uses their resources to possibly give this side of the city a great place we can all go to and have a great, fair priced meal. I can't speak for all, but I myself can say, I grew up with KFC as a treat. And it always had good memories attached to it. Good food, good friends/family. Good memories. Saturday evening our family decided to have KFC for dinner, and we normally have decent experiences with this location. I went to pickup a 20 pc chicken meal that evening and the young man at the counter was told by the cook it would be 5 mins, I ended up waiting nearly 30 mins. When home we unpacked the greasiest, soggy chicken we ever had from KFC. The skin hardly stayed on, as if it hadn’t rested or dried at all before placed in the bucket. It was disgusting. I called the store and told them, the lady asked me to text her the receipt and pictures. She asked me to come back, I couldn’t because I had to put my kids to bed, and it was -35C that evening. She asked me to put the chicken aside and bring it by when I could do they could “investigate”. I brought it in the next day. They told me they couldn’t issue a refund because they had to get a hold of their manager. I went back again today and the acting manager got a hold of the owner I presume and told me I would be getting 9 pieces because that’s all I brought back. I asked her by the pictures provided if she agreed it was greasy and inedible, she agreed and said yes, I told her, you sold me 20 pieces of bad food and I’ll be compensated for 9?? I assume the person making this judgment call is very greedy, and doesn’t care if we ever come back. To me a refund is a matter of principle. Do not give this KFC location any business. I did a skip the dish order on May 30 for $90. When I received my order the food was disgusting. It was like they fried the chicken Let it get cold and refried it. I ordered a 10 piece and only received eight. I called the store right away and Lily, who was supposed to be the supervisor said that she wrote my name down in the book for a credit in which I would receive two piece pieces of chicken fries and a drink. I went there today and of course Lily was not working. She was on vacation And did not write down the credit that was supposed to be given to me after I asked her Multiple times if she had my information written down. The new staff or new manager, whoever the hell this woman was that I dealt with was extremely rude, and was disrespectful towards me. I had the person’s name and she said there was no credit proceeded to speak another language to her employers, and then gave me two pieces of chicken no fries no drink. when I asked for specific pieces of chicken. She said she couldn’t do it , but I can almost guarantee if one of her family members came in or somebody who spoke the same language as her came in she would’ve done it . This location used to be the best in Calgary and ever since they’ve hired new people it Has gone down the drain. Do not go to this location you don’t know what they’re telling staff to do to your food and they don’t keep record of any credit. How would I have known the manager‘s name if I didn’t speak to her?
