Riverbend Peking House aka Peking Peking — Restaurant in Calgary

We had a reservation at 4pm partly so we could get fresh food. Unfortunately the majority of the food seemed like it was sitting on that buffet for at least 30 to 60 min. The S&P squid was way over cooked and rubbery. Thick noodles were also overcooked and super bland in flavor. I tried a bit of everything, sadly the rice was the best thing. Dumplings were ok, beef n beans were ok. Wonton soup was full of flavor, which it usually is a bland soup so if you don't like salty, probably not for you. Anything fried was super greasy. Ice cream was good! The only part that made me ok with the poor quality was that it's only $17 so I didn't feel super cheated. Kids pay their age. I saw a lot of decent reviews so we came down here from the north but sadly I would say that the people who like the food here don't really know good Chinese food....you guys are missing out. It was busy so they bring people in, my guess is the cheap prices, takeout buffet is only $12.95 or something like that. But again, it's only ok at best. Had worse, but definitely had better at a lot of places....

Well Here I am to strike down another company trying to get buy on average tasting food for higher then normal prices. But the public needs to know the truth before they make the ultimate mistake of paying for disappointment. Guys let's get real. Had a dinner for 1 just to try our the food and unfortunately an epic fail for Riverbend Peking . Let's get started. 1. Chicken Fried Rice was actually white rice with chicken stock, peas, and pieces of chicken added. FAIL!!! 2. Sweet and Sour Chicken Balls had 90% Batter and 10% Chicken which at times was like eating rubber with a sweet sauce that was colored water. Tasteless. FAIL!!!. 3. Portions were smaller then most of the other Peking restaurants in town. On the Upside. The Ginger Beef was moist and tasteful. A+ on that one..Yippee!! We all have different pallets and you may just like this type of food that half way thru will get thrown out along with your money. I hope this bit as tasteless talk helps you with...

Best Chinese and buffet i have ever had. I'll never go anywhere but here for Chinese, not only is there food awesome but the buffet comes in take out or stay in. The prices are very budget friendly and totally worth it. We always get the take out buffet and you get these take-out food containers you take to the buffet and you fill it to whatever you want and i mean whereever you want if its over flowing they give you Elastic bands to help hold it closed. If you show up 10mins before they close just to make sure you have fresh food they will make you fresh food. you want Chinese food this is the place to go. I have NEVER been disappointed with their food or service, they are kid friendly. I highly recommend this restaurant I promise you won't be disappointed. This restaurant will definitely become your new favorite place for Chinese food they hands down deserve a tip at the end...
