I would not recommend to anybody in visiting this location because of the dishonesty. I'm not sure if it's common practice here to lie to customers because the the young brown lady there did so again and again. I brought in a Groupon that I printed out but this store does not have any device to scan the barcode. I do not have the app or internet on my phone. I am not upset about this since Groupon could easily resolve this issue. What I am upset about is how she lied to my face, pretending to know how Groupon works when she knew about it for 5 minutes. Lady, I've been using Groupon for 15 years and a printed copy was not a problem with other merchants. But she tells me that paper Groupon is never used probably thinking that I'm an naive amateur. Unluckily for her, she was talking to me and her attempt to trick me didn't work.
When I tried to give her a feedback that the store should get a scanner, she says they don't have it because the store is new (Is it even new?). Another lie. I know this because it's not my first time trying to use a Groupon at a Marble Slab Creamery location and none of them had scanners. When I told her this, she gets so defensive that I caught her in her lie and says, "I haven't been told anything. I'm just an employee here" in an attempt to blame her boss. I don't care if you're "just an employee". I want you to stop making false excuses and put it through your head that customers are always right.
This happened on June 29 at 15:30. I'm not sure why the manager would hire someone with such low level of consideration for the customers but it will affect a customer based business like this one. I'm giving out a warning to everybody that a visit here is not a good idea. What if you find hair in your food? Will that brown woman tell you she won't do anything because it's your own hair when it is...
Read moreUgh - went here to get a couple tubs of dairy-free (yes it's brutal, but a condition none the less!), and the cashiers only pointed to one flavor. Upon asking if she had more- she said "maybe". I asked her to check, and the other employee said there was some in another freezer. So I went to the far side of the store where they had two different prices, and I asked for clarity because I wanted to buy two pints - same flavor but because it wasn't packaged that way, she said it was impossible to give me the price of a pint by combining the two half-pints. She seemed to not understand I was only asking because the other "dairy" products came in this size... but not the dairy-free. I asked If she could just package them Into a regular container (non 'dairy-free') and she said it was possible. I mean... it's not "impossible ", but she seemed really confused as to why I wanted this. I told her the price was a fraction of what it would be if I had to buy two separate... but it wasn't my fault they didn't have them in pint sizes!! Anyways ... she was super irritated and huffy-puffy rude with attitude when I asked if they could ask, she said "probably not" ... so I just left. Went to Safeway across the parking lot and got a better deal on what turned out to be amazing ice cream. Sorry Marble Slab - won't come back EVER AGAIN with staff attitudes and pricing like that!! ...
Read moreWhy is it ok for customer service to be non existent today? I came in and the over powereing smell of cleaner was intense. I slipped slightly on the wet floor -no wet floor sign- please warn people as I was taken off guard a let out a little yip as I slipped. No reaction from either workers there.
Then the clerk seemed put out that she had to serve me. It was my first time and said so and that I would need some time. Tried to be jovial and she was not having it...blank stare again. Then she just stood there staring at me waiting for me to decide. I felt pressure to hurry up.
If people aren't happy working in an ice cream store, where you can serve yummy treats to people, please take a job not working with customers. I did not feel welcome there and no smiles or pleasantries or even a" your welcome " in response to my thank you...and as a goodbye, she yelled whose next to 2 people the other clerk was helping!
I won't go back. I love ice cream and it's my treat. I will drive 15 min to LA diperie or 20 min to lics where I'm treated like they are happy to see me, polite and helpful and the price is better as well (it was more expensive here and i didnt even add anything to it!! )!!
