Red Rock Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Calgary

Very disappointed in my first experience at this bar. Entered with my friend who is Jamaican and got some very poor looks from some of the patrons. A bit rediculous but whatever he didn't care so we sat down and proceeded to watch the basketball game. Took about 5 minutes for someone to come. No problem. We asked about wing night as it is advertised on several websites that they have cheap wings here on Friday nights. We were told it was Not true. Ok no big deal they have 10 dollar fish n chips. The giant permanent sign on the outside says 25 cent wings and says happy hour 4-7, when I asked about happy hour she said it was done at 6, I proceeded to tell our server it says it out side on the door or something. She goes and "checks" (she didn't leave the building) she came back and said it doesn't say that. I proceeded to bring her outside and show her the massive sign that indicated happy hour and then was given some bs excuse about how it's 5 dollar Fridays which was better anyways. No apology just said it's not my fault. We went back inside and decided to leave due to the terrible service. I understand there are reasons for why certain promotions are not on but the rudeness and service that have was provided really pushed us over the edge and I cannot help think that some of the patrons were not happy with the color of my friends skin so the staff figured a way to get us out of there. (Horrible after repeat visits, keep reading) Great food, warm atmosphere, reasonable prices and the food is great. Did I say the food was good? Probably the best pub in the immediate area. Lots of games including pinball machines. The fish and chips special is to die for and their house burger is one of the best Ive had from a pub.

This was a 5 star review (as read above)until the bartender. I go to the Red Rock 1-3 times a week and today was the first time dealing with the bartender(shaved head, middle aged guy). Ive never had a bartender ignore me and then respond with a scowl and a nod. If you don’t want to work in the public then don’t. Sad way to end my experience there.

This was a 4 star review(as read above). They charge $14 for a double caesar. Every time I’ve been before the servers bring out a tray with ketchup salt pepper and vinegar, the server for tonight brought out only ketchup and when I asked about the tray she informed me thats not how she does it. Would not recommend and will not go again. We went Sunday 23rd March.

We went for dinner, ended up ordering less than we planned because the service was so bad.

Service: It was terrible service. We sat ourselves, sat for awhile before being brought menus, then sat for awhile more before being brought drinks and then we were ignored. The two servers and the barman were hanging at the bar and talking for ages, which is pretty much what they did all the time we were there.

My friend had tried to wave to get her attention but in the end I had to get up and walk over to the bar and ask for them to take my order. Then when the server came over she had an attitude as if she was annoyed that I'd asked for service.

She had an attitude the entire time and clearly couldn't be bothered to do her job.

Food: We had wings and pizza, wings were decent but only because they were half price on the Sunday. I would not have been happy if I'd paid the full $19 that they're asking for 1 lbs of wings.
