Yesterday’s visit to McDonalds was a visit I had been planning for the last few days, why go to so much effort to visit McDonalds you might ask? Because yesterday – May 6, 2015 was their annual McHappy Day! That being said this review is going to a tad bias, I’m writing this with good and supportive intention given the reason for my visit was to support their McHappy Day initiative which helps kids and families across Canada. I’ll do a more proper review next visit to make-up :-).
Yesterday one dollar from every Big Mac®, Happy Meal® and any hot McCafé beverage went directly to Ronald McDonald Houses. As much as I wanted to binge on my usual Double Big Mac with an up-sized Fries and Regular Coke + a Junior Chicken on the side (yeah I’m bad haha… :P), I couldn’t on this occasion as I’m still on a diet that isn’t quite that flexible. Luckily I was able to work in a lone Big Mac which I was more than content with given my usual dinners are a little less tasty lol. People always love to hate on fast food given the unhealthy connotation, McDonalds gets a lot of it more than others, but like other Fast Food restaurants they do have all the nutritional information clearly laid out online. This made it super easy for me to fit a Big Mac into my flexible diet / macros despite it obviously not being the healthiest choice I could have made. At the majority of non-franchise restaurants you’d be left guessing just how bad that burger you ordered is, and believe me it could EASILY be worse than a Big Mac unless it’s a non-beef burger. So +1 McDonalds there! The other big plus I got was the consistency you’d expect from McDonalds; the Big Mac was made just the way I wanted it and was well put together. Solid presentation for fast food! Of course it tasted great as always, what can I say I’m a sucker for McDonalds!
This was a drive-thru experience, very smooth and efficient and completed as requested – no onions :). The drive-thru employee was polite so I even made a little extra donation to the McHappy Day cause. I have been to this location multiple times, very happy with it and no “major” concerns, especially with the remodel they did at all McDonalds it’s been a bit more welcoming and warm. I’ll do a proper review to make up for this “feel good” review next time I visit for my proper usual. One thing I will mention now is that this location can attract a drunk crowd later at night from Ranchmans and other bars near by. For a better experience stay clear of the later hours as these patrons aren’t the best to be around. But for now, cheers to McHappy Day! Last year raised over 8 million so I’m sure this year’s was a big...
Read moreI work with 4 kids with disabilities around this area and today we decided to walk for 40 min (long walk due to the wheelchairs) to eat at this McDonald’s. Since they are open only for pick up and drive through, I downloaded the app and ordered 4 happy meals for the kids, but the payment didn’t go through.. when the manager came out I showed him my phone with the message “there was an error with the payment. Talk to a crew member for more details”, to what he said “I already checked the internet, I can’t help you”. I was already disappointed by his rudeness but the kids were waiting, so me and my coworkers tried with 3 different cards and 3 different devices, but nothing worked. After 30 min trying, I went to the drive through and spoke to the lady at the window. I explained the situation and she said she couldn’t help me. At this point I go to the main door again and the manager comes out asking me to stop trying because my payment failed. I told him I have 4 kids with disabilities that at this point were very frustrated, We tried with three different phones and cards. His answer was: while I’m here talking to you I have 6 other orders to deal with. I was shocked by his answer and I asked him “is this how professional you are with your costumers?, he started raising his voice, in front of the kids, my staff and other costumers waiting at the door with me. I asked him if he could bring a machine so I could pay and he said no, then I asked him if I could pay at the drive through window, he also said no.. at this point I just asked him how he could help me pay for these happy meals for the kids who are crying for their food.. for our disappointment, he just shouted “don’t talk to me like that” and slammed the door in my face. It makes me so sad how the manager of a place like this, dedicated to kids, would treat 4 health care workers and 4 kids with cerebrally palsy and autism like that. We had the money, we had the app, but he was just too busy to help with...

Jan 22, 2024 @ approximately 2:45 am. Picked up food from this McDonalds location for myself and a friend. I get it. It's late. But when a restaurant is open 24 hours, quality should be consistent around the clock. We're in Calgary for work, and this was the first, and last time eating at this McDonalds location.
Here's a list of what I ordered, totalling nearly $35. All of it was INEDIBLE!
EVERY food item was old, cold, and stale! On top of that, it smelled off! This is quite literally the first time in my 42 years on this planet where I've ordered food from McDonalds and had to THROW IT ALL AWAY!
I don't know if this is an issue with a stingy manager trying to cut costs by serving old/bad food or problem employees, but it needs to be addressed immediately. They're going to make people sick!
To make matter worse, I paid for 2 dipping sauces, and they forgot to put them in the bag. Quite unfortunate considering the sauces were likely the only safe food item to consume.
Out $35 and still hungry.
Save your cash. DO NOT EAT AT THIS LOCATION.
I'm actually quite angry. This feels intentional.
