Peking Garden Calgary — Restaurant in Calgary

I have been going to this restaurant with my family for the past 3 years. The food tastes and looks great, but for some reason whatever they are adding to almost every single dish in the restaurant makes me throw up and feel sick, even if I eat only one spoonful of it. My family loves to eat here because they love gluten-free and I have to go with them, so I have tried tiny bites of a few things and every single dish I have tried makes me feel sick within a few minutes and later I throw up. This does not happen with other Chinese restaurants so whatever gluten free or some other ingredient they are using in all of the dishes must be the culprit for me. My family does not have this issue. It just seems to be me, I must have an intolerance to whatever ingredient they are adding to all of the dishes, I just order plain steamed vegetables with absolutely nothing on them and those are fine lol I stopped trying to eat the food long ago but looks and smells good. Overall, this is our favorite Chinese food place in Calgary. If I/we ever give a personal recommendation for Chinese food, it's this place. The GF lemon chicken is so amazing fresh (not a great option for delivery, I've tried a few times over the years), the chicken fried rice never disappoints, and in general we love everything else we try here. They have an entire GF menu to offer, and it was life changing for me! Let them know of any allergies or sensitivities you have.

Atmosphere: We recently went on a Sunday, and it was bumping for their Specials. It can be a bit crowded and noisy at times, so if you hate that, definitely try some takeout. We have made trips just to eat it in our car before. I promise it's worth trying!

I see some of the reviews saying that the food is soggy when delivered- well duh, if you put hot food into a container it's going to create condensation. Definitely eat in if you can.

Their weekend menu is not to be missed - i love the pan friend rice crepes with peanut and sweet sauce and their pan fried pork buns!

Other notable dishes on their regular menu are their ginger beef (oh my god so good), peking duck, and salt and pepper anything ( they do squid/ seafood (my favorite), chicken, beef, and zucchini).
