Today was my first visit.
After finally being acknowledged, I asked a question (obvious to returning customers and staff) and was met with a condescending tone before walking away. I chalked it up to the man who later identified himself as the owner, being unusually frazzled at the group of two before me. Owner man, whistled (yes whistled) for help in the back. Owner man eventually came back, I placed my order, paid, and was on my way, excited to dive into my healthy, delicious looking bowl of food.
Although I do like kale quite a lot, I was surprised at just how much kale there was. I'd ordered double fish which was difficult to find amongst the garden of kale, rice, and SO MUCH SALT! Feeling like my insides had been preserved, I returned to give my feedback and to see if anything could be done.
If the salt lick and kale bowl wasn't bad enough, the owner guy was incredibly RUDE! Rather than listening, he was immediately on the defensive and he accused me of "doing whatever" when he supposedly was trying to explain something to me. I promptly corrected him on the actual conversation we did have which was me asking what kind of fish they used. (Recall what I said above about the obvious to returning customers...). It was the most bizarre thing. No humility, no effort to understand, just blaming his paying customer.
When I asked for money back, he claimed that he was unable to process returns. He is using Square. Returns can be processed. I was given a new bowl with no empathy, humility, or evidence that he knows the slightest thing about good customer service.
PROS: The worker was fast, courteous, clean. If you like kale, rice, and salt, this is your place.
CONS: The owner was unapologetically unprofessional and RUDE RUDE RUDE! He was curt, seemingly inconvenienced by customers, SWEATING PROFUSELY, rude (in case I haven't mentioned that), food was incredibly salty and kale filled. For those of you who are even slightly germ conscious, please note that although the owner donned a mask, he wasn't wearing gloves and his head was DRENCHED IN SWEAT.
This review may not deter you from visiting them, but hopefully when you go, you are able to interact with a worker and not the owner. Please cut them some slack because I don't imagine their boss is very respectful towards them considering how he treats paying customers.

Read moreToday was my first time eating at Hula, very disappointing. The veggie portions are a joke. I ordered the Tiki bowl and there was supposed to be edamame beans, cucumber, cilantro and kale. I saw no cucumber in my bowl, there were maybe 5 edamame beans and they topped it with one small piece of cilantro. So I basically paid $14 for a bowl of white rice with some kale and sauce. I'm still starving after finishing it. I don't know how these businesses stay in business when they are so cheap on their portions. Ridiculous price for what you get. Would...
Read moreThis was my first time ordering and I ordered a Tiki Bowl with double wild salmon (because I love salmon) and a Lava Coffee (not pictured because it was that good! I drank it so fast.).
I really enjoyed my order! It tasted amazing! The kale complimented with the dressing, rice and fish! BUT YO! Let me tell you about the FRIED ONION (SO CRUNCHY AND DANG AMAZING!). The heat from the chili was soothed by the Lava coffee (Which I didn't have to add more sugar!). The whole order was really refreshing and filling. I'm glad I...
