Had called in a reservation two weeks ago for 4 of us to celebrate my father's 86th birthday. They did ask at the time I made the reservations if it was for a celebration and I told them what the event was. So they knew he was 86 years old and that it was his birthday. He is frail and just beginning to use a walker (not very good at it). We came in the front door and the girls could immediately see he was not very stable. AND YET they took us to a table at the very back of the restaurant, near the washrooms and the kitchen. I don't care about the location I care about the distance they made him walk. They said we had to sit at the back because we could park his walker there. They should have sat us at the very closest table to the entrance possible and put his walker in the back if that's what they wanted. He was exhausted and almost sick by the time we got him to the table. The girl from the front who was escorting us to the table looked unhappy and uncomfortable at the amount of time we kept her waiting. This is completely unacceptable and I have never been so angry at a restaurant experience in my life. On top of that, when it came to ordering the food, my father hasn't got a large appetite but he wanted the 1/2 chicken. My husband offered to share it with him, with dad getting the white meat and my husband taking the dark. We asked the server if the kitchen would do this for us and were assured that was fine. Later, the assistant manager came over to tell us that kitchen simply couldn't separate the meat for us, it was too hard to do. Oh my. Any chefs in the building? I guess not. We managed to separate the white from the dark at the table quite easily. There was no congratulations for his 86th birthday, there was no consideration for his age or ability to walk, no attempt made to accommodate him whatsoever. All of this would have been on a comments section on line if I could find it and I will still continue to try because people need to know about this. I am completely disgusted and will never, ever, go to another Milestones and will be sure to tell everyone I can get to sit still long enough to hear me out. Thanks for nothing.
Update two days later after two very frustrating conversations with the local managers:
talked today with regional manager from Vancouver who actually apologized first and then listened to me and made appropriate sympathetic sounds. Refreshing. Said he will talk to the franchisee and manager at the Market Mall Milestone's about their communication skills and about changing their policy to at least ask a customer on a walker if they want to sit near the washrooms or near the front. That would be excellent! Plus, he didn't try to jam Milestone's down my very reluctant throat but offered to send a gift card which covers their other restaurants as well. I feel much more calm today. Thanks Chris at...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Milestones in Market Mall, and I must say, it was an absolutely fantastic experience from start to finish.
Ambiance: The restaurant's ambiance was warm and inviting, with a modern and stylish decor that created a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. Whether you're dining with friends, family, or colleagues, the setting is perfect for any occasion.
Service: The service at Milestones was top-notch. The staff was friendly, attentive, and genuinely seemed to care about our dining experience. They were prompt in taking our orders and accommodating to any special requests we had. The level of professionalism and hospitality really added to the overall enjoyment of the meal.
Food: The food was simply outstanding. Milestones offers a diverse menu with a great selection of dishes to choose from. Each dish was expertly prepared and presented, and the flavors were nothing short of exceptional. From appetizers to desserts, every course left a lasting impression, and it's evident that the chefs take pride in their culinary creations.

Read moreThis review is for milestones specifically at market mall calgary alberta, it is not a review of milestones overall. I've been to milestones many times, I go to the one on Stephen Ave often and I've been to the one at crossiron a number of times as well. Both locations are always good and they've got something on the menu for everyone. This is my third visit to the milestones at market mall and I have to say it continues to get worst each time
Pros: Got in without a reservations right away (table for 2) Greeting staff was friendly
Cons: Server was extremely slow (I get being busy but the restaurant wasn't busy and it took over 20mins just to get a cup of tea)
We went for brunch and ordered eggs, again the restaurant wasnt even at 50% capacity and it took forever to get our food
When I finally got my tea, the milk container had leftover food stuck to the inside of it with stuff floating in the milk, I asked for a new milk and that again took about 20mins to get
When we got our food it was extremely dry and tasteless Potatoes were overdone and everything about my eggs were horrible (never been anywhere where they've been able to mess eggs up?)
The server and manager seemed like they could care less and not that it really makes a difference to me, but i was surprised that they didnt even acknowledge serving something as disgusting as the milk that they did.
I eat out a lot and I go to all kinds of restaurants, I think of all the reviews I've ever posted this is my second review that was bad (the first one was when there was a used bandaid in my food at ihop)
I'd never recommend the Market Mall Milestones to anyone, nothing personal, the people that work there seem kind for the most part but the food and service were...
