Pho Anh — Restaurant in Calgary

Overall I found that the quality of the pho broth was pretty bland. As for what you pay for, the portion size was pretty meagre to the point where I was very surprised as I had ordered the large bowl with all of the meat fixings (usually called pho dac biet). The pho here consisted primarily of noodles with small amounts of meat. Even the meatball was not even a full meatball. It was half a small meatball cut in half. As compared to the pho I have eaten in other restaurants around the city, unfortunately this place ranks the lowest in food quality and quantity. I also ordered a mango bubble tea. It tasted more like a light flavored slushy with pearls in it despite the server telling me that it's made with real fruit. There was not even that pulpy fibrous texture you would find with drinks made with real fruit. Another disappointment I suppose. The saving grace would be the friendliness of the staff and owner of the restaurant. They were ready to answer any questions and did come by to check on how we were enjoying our meal. This along with the advertisement that they do not use MSG in their food garnered the extra star...

Came here with my family tonight and ordered number 43 (the beef curry with noodles) an item I’ve ordered and enjoyed before. Tonight it tasted off and I mentioned to our server it did not taste very good and I’d hardly touched it - too much curry powder maybe? She said she would let the cook know. When my husband went to pay she told him the kitchen said this is the way it is always made and something must be off with me or I must not remember what it tastes like. We have been regulars here for over 6 years and it is my family’s go to for Vietnamese, but we are done - this is just poor customer service. We regret that we won’t be back, as there is one server who has always been great.

Side note - the blinds are filthy and caked in old food and sauce splatter. Maybe we’ve over looked these things in the past, but like I said we...

Was here for lunch with a friend today. According to my friend who arrived before me, the server wanted to seat us in one area, but because we had babies with us, my friend requested a table that was more suitable for high chairs. After this, our server wouldn’t even acknowledge when we spoke; she would just walk away without saying anything after we ordered drinks or food. I’m very polite with wait staff, as I worked in the industry for years… so it’s a shock to have a server be so blatantly rude for simply asking to have a table more suitable for high chairs. We witnessed her be polite and friendly with other customers, so it seems she had a problem with us, despite us being nothing but friendly. I normally order for pick-up from this place, and today was the first time dining in, but they’ve lost my patronage after...
